Disney World Reveals Immediate Replacement at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Attraction
While conversations about safety at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure continue following two alarming incidents at Disneyland Park in recent weeks, Walt Disney World Resort has quietly rolled out a change of its own at the Magic Kingdom version of the attraction.
A Brand-New Pressed Penny Machine

On Monday, WDWNT reported that the pressed penny machine near the gift shop at the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure exit at Magic Kingdom Park has been replaced with a brand-new unit. The updated machine features a wood-paneled exterior designed to complement the Frontierland surroundings, and it comes loaded with eight fresh coin designs that Central Florida Disney Park guests haven’t seen at that location before.
The full lineup is available for $1 per design or all eight for $5: Frontierland with Cowboy Mickey Mouse, Frontierland with Cowpokes Stitch and Angel, Frontierland with Cowboy Goofy, Frontierland with Cowboys Goofy, Mickey Mouse, and Donald Duck, Toy Story (1995) with Jessie, Toy Story with Stinky Pete, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with Mickey Mouse.

Interestingly, none of the eight designs are inspired by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure itself, despite the machine’s placement directly at the attraction’s exit.
Part of a Broader Coin Machine Upgrade
The new machine also reflects an ongoing update to how Walt Disney World Resort’s collectible coin stations operate. The resort has been phasing out the classic hand-crank designs across its parks, replacing them with touchscreen-controlled units that accept cash or card.

Guests no longer need to bring their own penny — the machines dispense pressed copper medallions from an internal supply. Anyone paying by card must purchase all eight designs in a single transaction.
The Backdrop to This Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Update

The update surfaces as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been drawing significant attention for reasons unrelated to souvenirs. Two separate incidents at Disneyland Park within the past month involved young guests exiting ride vehicles near the top of the attraction’s over-50-foot drop, with one fall captured on video and shared widely online. Safety discussions surrounding the former Splash Mountain attraction are ongoing.
