Disney Springs Officially Enters a New Era for 2026 and Beyond

The West Side of Disney Springs looks different this weekend after an overnight transformation of a courtyard area that has sat empty since the food trucks that once operated there closed earlier this month.

On Sunday, WDWNT shared a photo revealing that the former food truck courtyard on the West Side of Disney Springs had been outfitted overnight with metal tables and chairs, most of them sheltered under patio umbrellas, along with additional trash cans placed throughout the space.

The installation converts what had been an uncomfortably empty outdoor plaza into a functional, shaded seating area — a welcome addition for anyone who has ever circled a nearby Quick-Service location looking for somewhere to sit down with their food.

A wide pathway to the waterfront remains clear through the center of the space, keeping the area open and walkable while the new furniture fills in the edges and gives the courtyard a purpose it has been lacking since early June. The new seating also expands dining capacity for nearby Quick-Service options such as Pepe by José Andrés, Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew, Starbucks, and Disney’s Candy Cauldron.

Walt Disney World Resort did not accompany the change with any public statement.

The food trucks that had occupied this West Side courtyard for years disappeared in early June, leaving the space vacant with no word from Walt Disney World Resort about what — if anything — was coming next. The removal had been anticipated for weeks after rumors circulated about Disney’s plans to clear the area, but the resort remained quiet throughout, offering no timeline or vision for the future of the space.
