Every Disney World Guest Visiting in June Needs This List Before They Arrive
Walt Disney World has closures across multiple parks in June, and guests who don’t know about them before they arrive will find out the hard way. Here is every closure currently scheduled, so you can plan around them before your trip rather than during it.
Magic Kingdom
The good news at Magic Kingdom is significant. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad returned in May after more than a year offline, marking the first time in a long time that the park is operating without at least one major ride in refurbishment. June is looking clean for Magic Kingdom from a ride perspective.
The closure to note is Big Top Souvenirs, the circus-themed retail store in Fantasyland’s Storybook Circus area. The store has been closed since February and is scheduled to remain closed through June. A reopening is expected at some point this year, but no specific date has been announced. For most guests, this closure has minimal impact on the overall park day, but shoppers who specifically planned on Big Top Souvenirs should know before they make the walk.
EPCOT
Refreshment Port near the Canada Pavilion is closed through June as it undergoes a transformation into La Poutinerie. The new concept will be sponsored by Air Canada and will bring a Canadian classic with a twist, which, given the name and the longtime popularity of Refreshment Port’s poutine, suggests the iconic dish will anchor the new menu. No opening date and no menu details have been announced. Construction work is ongoing through June. Guests who made Refreshment Port a regular stop during EPCOT visits should factor the closure into their dining plans for the month.
Animal Kingdom
The closure at Animal Kingdom in June is tied directly to the opening of Bluey’s Wild World and the Conservation Station transition around it. While Bluey’s Wild World is operating with its virtual queue system, the broader Conservation Station area, including the former Affection Section, remains closed through at least June 14. After June 15, the closure is not marked on the Walt Disney World calendar, but operating hours have not been listed as of the most recent update. Guests planning visits to Conservation Station beyond the Bluey experience should monitor the My Disney Experience app for current status as their trip approaches.
Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Studios enters June without any major closures and in its strongest position in years. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is now open after its reimagining. The new Walt Disney Studios area is operating with The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! running in a dedicated soundstage. The new Smugglers Run Mandalorian and Grogu mission has been operating since May 22. For guests visiting Hollywood Studios in June, the park has more to offer than it has had in a long time.
The Bottom Line for Disney World
June is a manageable month at Walt Disney World from a closures perspective. No major rides are down across the four parks and the closures that exist are mostly dining and retail rather than headline attractions. Know the list before you go and the trip will be better for it.
