Disney Reopens Classic EPCOT Resort Lounge Months After Sudden Closure

One of Walt Disney World’s quieter fan-favorite lounges is officially back.

After being closed for nearly three months during refurbishment work at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Crew’s Cup Lounge has reopened to guests, bringing back one of the most relaxed dining spots around Crescent Lake. While the closure may not have grabbed the same attention as a major attraction refurbishment, plenty of longtime Disney guests were eagerly waiting for this particular reopening.

That’s because Crew’s Cup has developed a reputation over the years as one of those places Disney regulars almost feel protective of. It’s smaller, calmer, and tucked away compared to many of the company’s more heavily advertised restaurants and lounges. Guests who know about it tend to intentionally make time for it every trip.

Now, those guests can finally head back inside.

A Lounge That Feels Different From the Parks

One reason Crew’s Cup stands out is because it doesn’t feel rushed.

Walt Disney World vacations can get exhausting fast. Between Lightning Lane reservations, packed walkways, transportation schedules, and nonstop planning, many guests end up searching for quieter spaces where they can slow down for a while.

Crew’s Cup has always filled that role nicely.

Located next to Yachtsman Steakhouse inside Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, the lounge leans heavily into the resort’s nautical atmosphere. The darker woods, softer lighting, and laid-back seating arrangement give it more of a traditional resort bar feel than a trendy Disney destination trying to go viral online.

That’s part of why fans were nervous when Disney announced the refurbishment earlier this year.

These kinds of updates can sometimes dramatically change the feel of a location. Guests have seen Disney modernize restaurants and lounges before, occasionally stripping away some of the personality that made them special in the first place.

Fortunately, early reactions suggest that didn’t happen here.

Disney Appears To Have Preserved the Atmosphere

While Disney hasn’t released extensive details about the refurbishment itself, reopening reports suggest the work focused more on refreshing the lounge rather than reinventing it entirely.

Some guests familiar with the project have mentioned updated flooring, refreshed furniture, and general cleanup work throughout the space. That likely comes as welcome news to Disney fans who were hoping Crew’s Cup would maintain its classic identity rather than turn into something completely different.

And honestly, that classic feel matters.

Yacht Club has always carried a slightly more mature atmosphere compared to some other Disney resorts. Crew’s Cup fit perfectly into that environment because it offered a quieter alternative to the parks without feeling overly formal.

Now that it has reopened, it appears Disney understood that balance and tried to protect it.

The Menu Has Changed a Bit

Of course, returning guests will notice some menu adjustments.

Several familiar favorites remain available, including Prime Rib Sliders, Lobster Bisque, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, and the Yachtsman Signature Bread. Those dishes became staples for many repeat visitors over the years, so seeing them stay around should make plenty of fans happy.

At the same time, Disney appears to have simplified certain parts of the menu.

Some previous offerings, including Scotches, Cognacs, Coffee Drinks, and After-Dinner Flights, are no longer listed on the current menu lineup. New wine selections and non-alcoholic specialty beverages have also been added following the reopening.

That shift has already sparked debate online among Disney dining fans.

Some guests appreciate the refreshed offerings and expanded beverage options, while others worry Disney may slowly be moving away from some of the lounge’s more old-school charm.

Still, the bigger story right now is simply that Crew’s Cup is operating again after months behind refurbishment walls.

Yacht Club’s Changes Aren’t Finished Yet

Even though Crew’s Cup has reopened, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort still remains in the middle of broader refurbishment work that stretches into late 2026.

Construction activity around the resort continues, and Yachtsman Steakhouse is also scheduled to close temporarily for its own refresh beginning May 11, 2026.

That means Yacht Club will likely continue evolving over the coming months.

But Crew’s Cup reopening feels like one of the first signs that Disney is beginning to move past some of the construction-heavy phase of the project.

And for guests staying around EPCOT Resort Area this summer, that’s probably a very welcome update.
