One of the most visually captivating treats at EPCOT has disappeared from the China World Showcase Pavilion, and Walt Disney World Resort has seemingly decided that it will never return.
A Kiosk Gone Without a Word

As of May 5, Disney Park guests visiting the House of Good Fortune — the shop nestled at the rear of the China World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT — will find no trace of the sugar painting candy station that had been drawing curious crowds just days earlier. The kiosk is gone, and so is every piece of signage that once advertised it. Disney cast members in the pavilion confirmed that the experience is “not returning,” leaving fans without so much as an official explanation from Walt Disney World Resort.
What Made the Experience Special

For those who never had the chance to stop by, the sugar painting candy station was exactly the kind of detail that makes each EPCOT World Showcase Pavilion worth slowing down for. Guests selected a design from a menu of animals and watched a cast member bring it to life by drawing with flowing hot liquid sugar.
The menu was broken into three pricing tiers. Small designs, which included the dragonfly, swan, panda, kitten, and dog, were available for $9.00. Medium options, including the hummingbird, butterfly, owl, horse, and bunny, came in at $14.00. The most elaborate offerings, including a dragon or phoenix, topped out at $25.00.
Back and Gone Again

The station had only just returned to Walt Disney World Resort in March, marking its first appearance since the 2019 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Unlike its previous run, this iteration wasn’t tied to any festival or seasonal event, which led many guests to assume the experience had finally earned a permanent spot in the pavilion.
That hope was short-lived. Less than two months after its return, the kiosk was pulled without any public announcement. WDWNT reported the removal on Tuesday and shared this image of the vacant space where the station had stood the day before:
Walt Disney World Resort has yet to comment on why the sugar painting candy was discontinued or whether any similar offering might take its place.
