Something new is quietly taking shape inside EPCOT, and if you’ve walked through the Imagination! pavilion lately, you’ve probably noticed it. It’s not a ride update or a major overhaul, but it’s still catching attention—and for good reason.

Disney has started installing themed walls inside the Magic Eye Theater lobby, and they’re not just there for decoration. They’re setting the stage for an upcoming Annual Passholder-exclusive meet and greet that’s part of V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days 2026.
A Space You Can’t Quite See
At first glance, the walls might seem like a simple change, but once you look closer, it becomes clear they’re doing something very specific. They’re blocking off a portion of the lobby that used to be fully open, creating a tucked-away area that most guests won’t be able to access.
What makes this setup interesting is how Disney designed it. These aren’t your typical construction walls. Instead, they feature colorful designs inspired by Disney and Pixar short films, which helps them blend right in with the surrounding space. That choice keeps the area from feeling closed off or disruptive.
Even so, the walls don’t stretch all the way to the ceiling. That means you can still peek over and catch a glimpse of what’s behind them, including the familiar film-themed backdrop that’s been part of the theater for years.
Built for Something Exclusive
The reason for the walls becomes clear once you know what’s coming. Starting May 1 and running through July 31, Annual Passholders will have access to a special meet and greet in this exact location.
Disney has kept the character lineup a bit of a mystery, only teasing that guests will meet some of Mickey Mouse’s closest friends. That alone is enough to draw interest, especially for Passholders who are always looking for experiences that feel a little different from the standard park offerings.

The meet and greet will run daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., giving Passholders plenty of chances to stop by during their visit.
Why the Walls Matter
In previous years, Disney often placed Passholder-exclusive experiences in more hidden areas. This time, though, the meet and greet is right in the middle of a space that regular guests use every day.
That creates a tricky situation. Without some kind of barrier, it would be easy for anyone walking by to assume they could join the line. The themed walls solve that problem instantly. They signal that something is happening there, but also make it clear that access is limited.
It’s a simple solution, but it works.
A Temporary Transformation
Everything about this setup suggests it’s only here for the summer. The walls look designed to be installed and removed without much disruption, which lines up with how Disney usually handles seasonal offerings.

Once V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days wraps up, the area will likely return to normal, and the walls will disappear just as quickly as they arrived.
For now, though, they’re a reminder that something exclusive is on the way—just out of reach for most guests, but front and center for those who know where to look.
