Overnight, Disney Removes ‘Indiana Jones’ Area From Theme Park
Guests arriving at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week found a familiar corner of the park stripped of its identity, with no warning from Walt Disney World Resort.
Years of Neglect, Now Something New

The area beside Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! has been quietly fading into the background for years. The merchandise kiosk that once operated there hasn’t sold Indiana Jones-themed goods since before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Disney parks to close, and a prop truck that previously gave the space some character was pulled out around the same time. What remained was a patchwork of outdoor snack and beverage carts.
That’s all changing now.
What Guests Found This Week

BlogMickey reported on March 17 that the area had undergone a visible overnight transformation. A net that had been covering the space was gone, a digital tip board screen showing attraction wait times had been pulled down, and rolling planters — the Disney parks’ reliable indicator that work is underway — had been positioned around the site.
On March 18, WDWNT documented further progress in the area. The merchandise kiosk has been nearly entirely dismantled, leaving behind only a handful of wooden posts that once anchored the missing net and a prop shed.
Disney took the screen from the digital tip board but left the themed wooden frame standing, suggesting that the display itself may be getting an upgrade rather than a permanent removal.

Walt Disney World Resort has not publicly acknowledged the project or offered any timeline for completion. The Backlot Express Quick-Service dining location and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! are both continuing to operate normally nearby. The stunt show, however, is still running without its signature 400-pound boulder effect, which has been offline since a cast member was injured during a performance last year.
