Report: Permanent Closure Now Expected for Disney Springs
Another permanent closure is on the way to Disney Springs.
As the onsite shopping and dining district for Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Springs has undergone plenty of changes during its lifespan. What was once Downtown Disney was reimagined as Disney Springs, expanding its footprint, upgrading its aesthetic, and shifting toward a more upscale mix of retail, restaurants, and entertainment.

That evolution has also meant saying goodbye to longtime fixtures. DisneyQuest, once a cornerstone of the area’s identity, closed its doors in 2017, only for its replacement, the NBA Experience at Disney Springs, to shutter for good during COVID-19.
More recently, the area saw an abrupt closure with the shuttering of Sprinkles. The sudden exit of the popular cupcake chain was announced overnight, with employees receiving no warning.
Now, another retailer appears to be on its way out.

Closure Update For Disney Springs
The Francesca’s location at Disney Springs is expected to close as part of a nationwide shutdown affecting all of the company’s stores.
The women’s clothing and accessories chain operates 466 locations across the United States and has begun liquidating all remaining assets, both in-store and online.
The Disney Springs Francesca’s is among the locations impacted by the company-wide closure. Clearance sales are expected as the retailer works through its remaining inventory.

No specific closing date for the Disney Springs location has been announced.
Disney has not yet confirmed when the store will officially close or what, if anything, will replace the space. As Disney Springs continues to evolve, the loss of another retail tenant highlights the ongoing reshaping of the district.
This week, its latest addition was unveiled as Six Ravens, a new restaurant concept from the owners of Gideon’s Bakehouse. This “fast casual celebration of savory” will sell hand-pie sandwiches called Coffyns, housemade yeast rolls with fillings that support local (via Orlando Sentinel).
