Disney Property Appears at SeaWorld, Collaboration Unconfirmed
SeaWorld Orlando’s 2025 holiday celebrations have introduced an unexpected element that’s catching attention from Disney Parks fans: a piece of Star Wars iconography appearing within the marine park’s Christmas decorations.
SeaWorld’s 2025 Christmas Celebration Overview
Holiday festivities are in full swing at SeaWorld Orlando, where the annual Christmas Celebration brings seasonal entertainment and decorations throughout the park. This year’s offerings include Holiday Reflections: Fireworks Finale lighting up the night sky, the O Wondrous Night nativity presentation, Winter Wonderland On Ice performances, and Elmo’s Christmas Wish Show for younger guests.

The park has also unveiled its Sea of Trees display, the Sesame Street Christmas Parade, and various animal experiences reimagined with holiday themes. Visitors can meet Santa Claus, encounter Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and interact with Sesame Street characters dressed for the season.
Among the holiday additions, SeaWorld created a retro-themed Christmas tree trail. This walkthrough experience features trees decorated with vintage toys and memorabilia celebrating various eras of pop culture.
Disney Character Makes Surprising Appearance

One particular tree in the retro trail caught the attention of theme park observers due to one unusual decoration: a Luke Skywalker action figure from the Star Wars franchise. Attractions Magazine highlighted the unusual crossover on X (formerly known as Twitter), noting the peculiarity of finding Disney-owned intellectual property featured at one of Walt Disney World Resort’s primary competitors.

The presence of a Star Wars character—a property owned by The Walt Disney Company—within SeaWorld Orlando naturally raises questions about whether this represents an official partnership or collaboration between the two entertainment giants.
No Official Partnership Behind Star Wars Decoration

Despite the surprising appearance of Disney intellectual property at a competing theme park, this doesn’t signal any formal business arrangement between SeaWorld Orlando and Walt Disney World Resort. The Luke Skywalker action figure serves as one element within a broader tribute to 1980s pop culture, as evidenced by surrounding decorations, including a cardboard cutout depicting vintage video gaming systems from that era.
While Disney and SeaWorld maintain fierce competition for Central Florida tourism dollars and have never collaborated on theme park attractions or experiences, the two companies have found common ground in one significant area: conservation efforts. Both organizations participate in wildlife protection initiatives and have worked together on various conservation and environmental programs.
