Reports of unruly guests at Disney parks have become increasingly common, from trespassing and physical fights to viral videos of visitors berating cast members. For many longtime fans, the behavior represents a troubling departure from the family-friendly image Disney has spent decades building.
As the parks welcome millions of visitors each year, small rule-bending moments have become harder to ignore. Some guests cut lines, dispute ticketing rules, or push boundaries in search of extra perks. Others have gone further — slipping into areas meant only for paying customers.
That growing sense of entitlement was on display recently at Disneyland Resort, where attendees at an exclusive dining event were stunned to see fellow visitors sneaking in through an emergency exit.
Guests Sneak Into Clarabelle’s Halloween Dinner at Disneyland Resort
At the center of the controversy is Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner, a buffet held at Storytellers Cafe inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Running nightly through October 31, the event features Clarabelle Cow and her woodland pals in full Halloween attire, greeting guests as they enjoy an unlimited buffet. Tickets are $79 per adult, plus tax and gratuity, and $42 per child.
Despite the high cost, some diners reported that a family attempted to avoid paying entirely. “We are sitting and enjoying ourselves, just had some time with Goofy, and see a parent open the emergency exit door to allow his son and daughter to run in,” one guest shared on Reddit. “They run to Goofy (as he’s at a table with paid guests) and start hugging him.”
According to the account, the children briefly left to grab their father’s phone before re-entering for photos with Goofy. “But they already got what they wanted,” the guest added. “The cast members then had to stand at the emergency exit door to make sure no other person [was] sneaking in. What is that father teaching his children?!”
The guest later reflected on the encounter, asking, “When did we become so entitled?!”
Other Disney fans chimed in to say the behavior was disappointing but not surprising. “Sadly, I can imagine this happening even 20 or 30 years ago; I don’t think it’s new,” one commenter noted. “It’s a particular mindset with certain people. They will likely brag about it to their family and friends. ‘Saved us about eighty bucks apiece!'”
Disney’s Troubled History With Trespassing and Other Poor Behavior
Incidents of guests breaking the rules are not confined to special dining events.
In 2023, a brawl at Magic Kingdom spilled across Tomorrowland between Tomorrowland Speedway and Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
That same year, a guest jumped from the Italy pavilion bridge into EPCOT’s restricted World Showcase Lagoon on a bet, prompting safety concerns and renewed warnings about guest behavior.
Disruptive stunts have continued. Earlier this year, an EPCOT visitor jumped into the American Adventure fountain while singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” during a “drinking around the world” challenge before security intervened.
Back on the West Coast, Disneyland faced a high-profile trespassing case in 2025 when a nude man was caught wandering around New Orleans Square, where he climbed Tiana’s Palace. Similarly, a man climbed off his boat on “it’s a small world” and stripping naked in 2023.
