Disney World Confirms Muppets Roller Coaster Opening

The curtain is rising on a brand-new era at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the stars leading the charge are none other than the Muppets. Disney has announced that Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open in Summer 2026, bringing guests face-to-face with the Electric Mayhem for a high-speed, music-filled adventure through Hollywood.

According to Disney Parks Blog, the attraction will feature an original soundtrack, backstage hijinks, and—for the first time ever—Muppet Audio-Animatronics figures. Scooter will take center stage as the band’s manager, joined by a crew of penguin sound engineers.

“Side by side with a dedicated team of penguin audio engineers, Scooter, in his capacity as band manager, will be trying hard to convince the Electric Mayhem to stop laying down tracks so they won’t be late to their own concert,” the blog shared. It also teased that Scooter may not be the only new figure to appear when the coaster debuts.

Disney has released a colorful new attraction poster that captures the groovy, rock ‘n’ roll spirit of Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Fans can even download the artwork as a wallpaper to celebrate the band’s latest gig.

The arrival of the Muppets marks a major milestone in the reimagining of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where transformation is underway across multiple areas of the park. Grand Avenue—once home to MuppetVision 3D* and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano—has closed to make way for Monstropolis, an expansive new land inspired by Monsters, Inc. Meanwhile, the Animation Courtyard, including Star Wars Launch Bay and Disney Jr. Play & Dance, permanently closed on September 25, 2025, to make room for The Magic of Disney Animation.

This upcoming area will celebrate Disney’s storied animation legacy, reimagined with workshops, short films, meet-and-greets, and a new indoor play zone for families. The beloved Sorcerer’s Hat will also make a return, serving as the glowing centerpiece for the new animation-inspired land.

Across Walt Disney World, construction continues as part of a sweeping transformation that includes the Tropical Americas expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Piston Peak National Park at Magic Kingdom. Together, these projects mark one of Disney’s most ambitious creative chapters yet.

So get ready to rock, literally. When the Electric Mayhem hits the stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2026, guests will be part of the show, joining the Muppets for a fast-paced, music-powered adventure that’s pure mayhem from start to finish.
