Cold Front Headed to Florida, May Upset Disney World Guests

As the holiday season approaches, the Central Florida parks prepare for a surge in visitors. Halloween festivities are still underway, but Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year are right around the corner. Disney World is known for crowded holidays, with even premium offerings like Lightning Lane passes selling out on consecutive days. Guests often factor in long lines, weather changes, and other surprises when planning their visit.

Weather in Florida is adding a layer of uncertainty. Tropical activity in the Atlantic continues to affect the coastline, and a cold front is expected to move through Central Florida late Friday into Saturday morning, bringing scattered showers. Click Orlando reports that after the front passes, cooler and drier air will settle in, with highs in the low 80s and morning temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Fall will soon become more noticeable at the parks. A drier airmass is predicted to arrive, lowering rain chances and bringing cooler mornings in the 60s, while afternoon highs remain in the low 80s. These shifts follow a trend in Florida, where cold fronts are not unusual. Earlier this year and last year, the arctic chill in the region forced Disney’s water parks to close for extended periods.

Speaking of water parks, Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to open this weekend, though guests should confirm hours closer to their visit. Blizzard Beach’s reopening has not yet been confirmed, but it is expected in early 2026. Typhoon Lagoon will also participate in Moonlight Magic for Disney Vacation Club members next summer, with the first night scheduled for June 25, 2026. This means if Typhoon Lagoon closes temporarily, it must reopen by late June.

There is also a possibility Disney could operate both water parks simultaneously, as they did last summer, offering another option for guests visiting the resort.
