Disney World Announces Restricted Access to Christmas Celebrations, Countless Families Out of Luck
As the holiday season draws closer, Walt Disney World Resort fans hoping to experience the magic of Christmas at the Central Florida vacation destination are facing a harsh reality. Due to overwhelming demand, several dates for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park have already sold out, leaving many families without the chance to join the festive fun.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is set to run on select nights from November 7 to December 21, 2025, and includes access to exclusive holiday entertainment and festivities. For those lucky enough to get tickets, the party begins at 7:00 p.m. but offers early park entry starting at 4:00 p.m. Guests will be treated to a variety of festive delights, including free holiday snacks like cookies and cocoa, a free holiday gift, and opportunities to meet beloved Disney characters dressed for the season. The party also features Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, all set against the iconic backdrop of Cinderella Castle.
However, for those hoping to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the clock is ticking. As of September 25, two additional event dates—November 10 and December 21—have completely sold out, joining the already unavailable November 7 event.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ticket prices range from $169 to $229, depending on the selected date. The demand for these tickets is so high that it’s expected that even more event nights will sell out soon, particularly those scheduled for weekends or close to Thanksgiving and Christmas. For guests still hoping to secure their spot at the event, available dates include November 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 25, 26, 28, and 30, as well as December 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 19.
Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom on the event dates should note that the park will close at 6:00 p.m. for those special event nights. If you plan on visiting Walt Disney World Resort on one of these dates and don’t have Park Hopper tickets, you may want to head to the Magic Kingdom on a different day when the park will remain open to all guests in the evening. Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away will not be performed on event nights.
In past years, Walt Disney World Resort has made some of the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party entertainment available to all Magic Kingdom Park visitors during the week between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. However, there are no guarantees that this tradition will continue, meaning visitors who miss out on the party may not get another chance to enjoy the festive shows, fireworks, and parades.
