Disney’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Area Abruptly Closed, Curtains Block Guests From Space
A quiet change has come to Magic Kingdom Park. Disney Park guests strolling through Fantasyland now see curtains where part of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience once stood.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has long been a staple at Disney parks and on Disney Cruise ships worldwide. Before 2020, Walt Disney World Resort guests could register for the experience at Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, or Disney Springs. The latter two never reopened after the COVID-19 shutdown, leaving Cinderella Castle’s boutique as the only operating location. Now, another part of the makeover experience has disappeared from the Magic Kingdom.
According to WDWNT, as of September 24, 2025, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique PhotoPass Studio inside Sir Mickey’s has closed its doors. Large blue curtains with gold tassels block the area from shoppers, signaling that the exclusive photography space is no longer in operation. The closure happened without a formal announcement from Walt Disney World Resort.
For years, families visiting the Magic Kingdom Park boutique could extend their royal transformation with a professional photo session. After children donned their Disney Princess, knight, or Encanto (2021)-inspired outfits, they were led from the check-in building in Fantasyland to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella Castle. For many families, the final stop was Sir Mickey’s, where Disney PhotoPass photographers captured memories of their magical makeover.
Now, that step in the process has disappeared. Guests can still shop for dresses, tiaras, and accessories inside Sir Mickey’s, but the private studio space has been removed. Walt Disney World Resort has not shared what will replace the curtained-off space inside the Fantasyland merchandise location.
On September 5, both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort announced upcoming changes to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience. Disney shared that makeover packages will be simplified for clarity, and the Fairy Godmother herself will visit with children receiving makeovers.
