Cain’s new path may come as a surprise to many, especially considering his past roles and public persona. But in a twist that is sure to stir up even more debate, the actor recently announced his decision to join the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This move marks a major shift in his career and public life, and it has already garnered significant attention.

For those who are familiar with Cain’s history in Hollywood, it’s no surprise that his latest career choice is fueling strong reactions. Known for his portrayal of Superman in the early 90s, Cain has since transitioned into a career that includes over 200 appearances in both movies and television. But despite the numerous projects he’s been involved with, Cain is perhaps most remembered for his turn as the iconic superhero. His portrayal of Superman, though divisive, has cemented him as one of the more recognized actors to take on the role.

Cain’s latest public statement, however, has caused an uproar. He recently shared a recruitment video for ICE, followed by the announcement that he would be joining the agency. The former Superman star explained his decision in a candid interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters. In the interview, he revealed:

“I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police office — I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that out there, and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,” Cain told Fox News host Jesse Watters. “So, now I’ve spoken with some officials over at ICE, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP.”

Cain said he felt it was his duty to serve, calling the decision “the right thing” to do.

“This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing,” he continued. “I truly believe this is the right thing.”

Cain’s move to join ICE is more than just a career change. It’s a personal decision that comes with heavy political and social implications. He’s no stranger to controversy, having publicly supported former President Donald Trump and his policies, particularly those related to immigration reform. The actor’s strong stance on these issues has always been clear, but his latest role may put him in the crossfire of an even more divisive public discussion.

According to reports from ABC News, Cain’s decision was welcomed by ICE officials. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed his commitment, emphasizing the actor’s role in promoting the agency as a “real-life superhero”:

“Superman is encouraging Americans to become real-life superheroes by answering their country’s call to join the brave men and women of ICE to help protect our communities to arrest the worst of the worst.”

In a further development, DHS confirmed it had waived the previous age restrictions for those wishing to join ICE. Applicants now only need to be 18 years old and no longer face an upper age limit. There used to be an age limit, with applicants needing to be between the ages of 21 and 40. This shift is just one example of the increasing role ICE plays in American law enforcement and national security.

What do you think about Dean Cain’s decision to join ICE? Do you consider it a brave step toward service, or does it tarnish his image as the hero we once knew? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. No surprise! He’s always been a radicalized far right person. Now he has a license and a gun to officially back up his racism!

  2. What an amazing man! Definitely a super hero! So excited he’s doing this! Hopefully people will think twice about doxing ICE agents and hating them so much
