Disney World Guest Loses Vacation Privileges, Possibly Forever

Guests strolling back to Magic Kingdom from Disney’s Contemporary Resort on the night of July 17 were met with something rare: a full stop at the security checkpoint. The walkway, normally open and busy with guests returning from dinner or resort hopping, was closed. For more than 15 minutes, no one could pass—and no explanation was immediately given.

According to a Reddit user who was there, they were told vaguely that security was “taking care of some stuff.” Buses nearby were also holding passengers inside. Something was clearly wrong.

Then the details began to leak.

A separate Reddit account, allegedly a Disney Cast Member, explained what happened. A woman sent to secondary screening—a standard part of Disney’s security process—refused to comply. Instead of cooperating, she began screaming, using vulgar language, and physically fighting back. She was trespassed from the property.

As a result, Disney temporarily shut down the walkway and nearby areas for guest safety until law enforcement and transportation could arrive to remove the woman and her family.

What Guests Can Learn from This

Disney’s security process is no joke. Though magical on the surface, safety is a top priority. Secondary screenings are common and often triggered by random checks or flagged bags.

When guests don’t comply, the consequences can be severe: being removed from the park, permanently trespassed, or ruining their family’s experience—especially when children are involved.

The Real Cost of Bad Behavior From a Disney World Guest

For families planning these trips for months—or years—the stakes are high. One guest’s refusal to follow directions can wreck thousands of dollars’ worth of memories. According to multiple reports, the woman’s family, including her children, were trying to calm her down as she shouted vulgarities in public.

One user summed it up best: “So now she ruined her vacation and her entire family’s because she didn’t want to wait just a couple minutes longer for a secondary check. That’s a lot of money down the drain.”

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
