Marvel Streaming Content Pulled From Disney+

Since its 2019 debut, Disney+ has served as a cornerstone for fans seeking legacy content and exclusive originals from across the Disney portfolio. The platform’s popularity soared in the early days of the pandemic and hasn’t slowed, even as the service undergoes changes.

Recently, that evolution has included higher subscription costs and strategic content removals. Now, with Disney’s complete acquisition of Hulu, the prospect of a more unified streaming experience could bring about its biggest transformation yet.

A major draw for subscribers has been Marvel Studios’ lineup of live-action series. From the emotional depth of WandaVision and the global action of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, to the time-bending exploits of Loki and the mentorship arc in Hawkeye, each project has broadened the scope of the MCU.

Marvel continued to take risks with series like Moon Knight, featuring Marc Spector’s complex mental health narrative, Ms. Marvel’s coming-of-age superhero twist, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’s blend of comedy and courtroom drama. Secret Invasion brought espionage intrigue to the forefront, while Echo explored street-level consequences. Agatha All Along, spinning out of WandaVision, continued expanding Marvel’s magical world.

Ironheart became the latest to join this roster, shining a spotlight on Riri Williams and further establishing Marvel’s next wave of technologically driven heroes.

But in a quieter shift, one nostalgic Marvel feature has vanished. According to The Direct, the Marvel Animated Rewind stream—once a go-to for fans of older Marvel series—was discontinued on July 1, 2025.

“As of July 1, 2025, the ‘Marvel Animated Rewind’ Streams channel no longer operates on Disney+,” the outlet wrote. “The streamer is filled with classic Marvel animated shows, including Spider-Man: The Animated Series and the original X-Men: The Animated Series from the 1990s, giving fans a look at Marvel’s long history on TV.”

While these shows remain part of the on-demand Marvel catalog, they now require individual selection rather than playing back-to-back as part of the curated stream.

“However, while those shows still run on Disney+, they can only be viewed on an individual basis moving forward,” The Direct added.

The former channel lineup included 16 series, with fan favorites like Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Iron Man, and Silver Surfer. No plans for its return have been announced.

As part of its mid-year preview, Disney dropped a sizzle reel teasing its upcoming 2025 content slate. While many anticipated projects made the cut, others were notably missing.

Among the spotlighted titles were All’s Fair, Ryan Murphy’s legal series featuring Glenn Close and Kim Kardashian; the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building; Glen Powell’s football-themed Chad Powers; the return of Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a second season; and Alien: Earth. Marvel’s Wonder Man, part of the new Marvel Spotlight label, was also teased for a winter debut.

Conspicuously absent, however, were three highly anticipated animated series: Marvel Zombies, Eyes of Wakanda, and Star Wars: Visions–Volume 3.

Despite its omission, Marvel Zombies is still locked in for an October 3 premiere. The four-episode series will carry a TV-MA rating, continuing Marvel’s recent trend of pushing genre boundaries. Eyes of Wakanda, created by Todd Harris and developed by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, is expected in August and will drop all episodes at once. It also serves as the debut Phase Six title on Disney+, arriving after The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters in July.

Meanwhile, Star Wars: Visions–Volume 3 is scheduled for release on October 29, even though it didn’t appear in the promotional footage.

  1. Im very upset the animated series rewind marvel stream has dissappeared. I follow the marvel and mcu universe thoughly. I pay top dollar to get these features and now it has been pulled away. If Disney+ continues to remove marvel titles I love to stream repeatedly at my leisure, then it will be time to cancel my subscription.
