Disney Slashes Prices by 70% Amid Government-Mandated Sale

Disney has once again slashed the prices of some of its merchandise.

When you hear the words “prices” and “Disney” in the same sentence, it rarely comes with the news that Mickey Mouse is making things cheaper.

In the wake of COVID-19, price increases have been a hot topic within the Disney parkgoer community. Park tickets and hotel rooms have both soared over the years, with Disney also adding more upcharges – such as Lightning Lanes and its even pricier alternative, Lightning Lane Premier Pass – to the theme park experience.

Unsurprisingly, stories of price decreases are a relatively rare phenomenon. That’s what made recent news that Tokyo Disney Resort would potentially slash its theme park ticket prices (which already start at just $55 per person) to bring up attendance, and the resort-wide sale at Disneyland Paris such big news.

It’s also what makes Disneyland Paris increasing its aforementioned discounts to a whopping 70% so significant.

Disneyland Paris Slashes Theme Park Merchandise Prices

In France, retailers are only permitted to sell products at a loss during designated periods known as “les soldes.” These state-regulated sales occur twice a year—once in summer and once in winter. Discounted items must be clearly marked with both original and sale prices and kept separate from full-priced stock.

This year’s summer sale, or “les soldes d’été,” started on June 25.

While discounts were originally introduced at up to 50% off select merchandise throughout the resort in June – including the likes of certain Spirit Jerseys, hoodies, mugs, and plushies – they’ve now been increased to 70%, according to DLP Report.

🛍 Deeper discounts have been applied on the Summer Sales items (until July 22), and it’s not just the WTF stuff, there’s some Attractions merchandise and Spirit Jerseys. AP discount applies on top so it can be a great deal.

That means guests can now enjoy hefty discounts on select products. Considering the eyewatering price tags that can come with certain pieces of Disney merchandise – including Spirit Jerseys – this is a more than welcome discount.

Guests have until July 22 to make the most of these offers. While the summer sales will wrap up on this date, Disneyland Paris also hosts winter sales. The next winter sale is slated to take place at Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park for four weeks from January 7, 2026.

Disneyland Paris also has a string of offers on park tickets right now, including discounts for larger parties and guests accompanying annual passholders.
