Disneyland Is Empty Again – What’s Going On?

Something strange has been happening at Disneyland Resort lately—crowds are nowhere to be found. TikTok videos and social media posts from multiple guests have revealed an unusually empty Southern California theme park, sparking a wave of questions about what could be causing the sudden drop in attendance. With summer typically bringing the largest crowds of the year, these recent reports of sparsely filled areas at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure have left many wondering if something bigger is at play.

Weeks ago, viral rumors suggested that ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents had been spotted at Disneyland Resort and surrounding areas. The alleged sightings claimed that ICE agents were roaming the parking garages and near Disney cast member entrances, reportedly trying to apprehend undocumented Disney Park guests or employees. As these videos gained traction, many feared that the park had become a site of immigration enforcement, leading to confusion and concern.

Disney quickly debunked the claims, confirming that ICE agents were not present at Disneyland Resort. In a statement, the park clarified that operations were continuing as normal, reassuring guests that the rumors were baseless. Despite the clarification, the damage had already been done, and many visitors noticed a distinct lack of the usual bustling summer crowds.

On June 18, two TikTokers, @guerasunshine and @queen.alejandra, posted videos showing the park’s typically crowded areas in an unusually empty state. “Disney is literally EMPTY,” said @guerasunshine in their post, sharing clips of Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Main Street, U.S.A., with practically no guests in sight. “Walk on lines and super short wait times and space to actually walk! …A blessing?”

Comments flooded in, with many visitors agreeing that Disneyland Resort was quieter than usual.

“It definitely has been slow,” said @user8118556710547. “All you have to do is check the app and ride times to see that the summer crowds are not there. Usually both parks have long ride wait times but lately it shifts back and forth with only a few rides at a time with long waits.”

“Went over the weekend. Fully prepared for horrendous crowds,” @_j0weezy wrote. “We waited max 30 min for rides. I have littles so we didn’t do the big big rides but it was PERFECT!”

However, not all experiences were the same. Some Southern California Disney Park visitors reported a return to the usual packed crowds, leaving many to wonder if the quiet days were just a fluke.

“Hahaha I was there Tuesday and it was horrid,” @jess_nicoleoros recalled. “Wall to wall people.”

Another guest, @ccrissyo, echoed this: “NOT TODAY THE 19TH! Super packed.”

  1. Gee, could it possibly be the lack of international visitors who are staying away from America in droves?🤷🏻‍♀️

    1. Agree. I think people are staying away from CA and that state can only blame themselves. It will take a nose dive and loose so much m!

  2. Hmmm, perhaps families wanting a more wholesome environment for their kids. Dump the woke and we’ll be back.

  3. Possibly WALT’s dream of average working family being able to afford going to Overpriced Fair has finally hit Disney! There’s a limit to extra $$ a family can spend and when it costs a weekly paycheck to attend a Disney Park is a sign.
A sign of current CEO and Execs not caring for the ppl who made the company a place to visit
1991 one day pass cost $27 — tack on $120 extra AND paying for parking -:costs if food inside us $10 a drink current compared to $3 with a GLASS of the 1990’s.
    Disney has ignored WALT’s vision!!
