Disney Magic Anywhere: Stage Connect Brings Theater to Schools Nationwide

Disney has always believed in the power of storytelling, and their latest initiative, Stage Connect, takes that belief to new heights. This innovative online platform is the latest evolution of Disney Musicals in Schools, a program that has brought the magic of theater to more than 100,000 students over 16 years. Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, Stage Connect will allow up to 200 public elementary schools nationwide to participate, no matter their location.

What Makes Stage Connect Special?

Stage Connect is designed to give schools everything they need to stage a professional-quality Disney KIDS musical. Participants receive:

  • Star-Studded Training: Broadway’s L. Steven Taylor and Bonita Hamilton guide teachers through virtual training courses.
  • ShowKits: These comprehensive kits include scripts, choreography guides, and rehearsal materials for eight Disney KIDS musicals.
  • Webinars and Support: Schools receive live and on-demand help to ensure a smooth production process.
  • Free Musical Rights: Schools can choose a production from an exciting lineup, including The Lion King, Frozen, and The Jungle Book.

With just a committed team and a few extra rehearsal hours, schools can create unforgettable performances.

More Than Just a Show

Stage Connect’s mission extends beyond the spotlight. By prioritizing underserved and rural schools, the program ensures that all studentsβ€”regardless of geography or resourcesβ€”can experience the confidence, creativity, and teamwork that theater inspires.

Sustainability is also a key focus. Schools that complete their first year can continue for two more years, gaining access to new resources and discounted performance rights, ensuring that theater becomes a permanent part of their culture.

Real Stories of Impact

The program builds on a long history of success. Some highlights include:

  • Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center: Hundreds of students performed Disney KIDS musicals with costume and set donations from Walt Disney World.
  • New York’s New Amsterdam Theatre: Schools took the stage at this iconic venue for an unforgettable showcase hosted by Broadway stars.

Now, with Stage Connect, Disney is bringing this level of magic to schools across the country.
