Say Goodbye: Mickey Mouse Is Officially Getting a Makeover
Disneyland Resort is preparing for a festive fall season full of returning favorites, new offerings, and a surprising visual update to two of the company’s most iconic characters. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are set to debut brand-new Halloween looks later this year as part of another ongoing celebration at the Southern California Disney parks.
The new costumes arrive as part of the Disneyland70 celebration, which began in May and will continue through the summer of 2026. Disneyland Resort previously introduced anniversary outfits for Mickey, Minnie, and their friends, but now, those looks are getting a seasonal spin.
“Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends will dress to impress this Halloween in bright new looks featuring swirling colors of purple, green and orange — a twist on their 70th Celebration outfits!” said the Disney Parks Blog in a June 11 update. “Make sure to wave ‘hello’ and snap a photo.”
The redesign maintains the general style introduced for the 70th anniversary, but swaps out deep blues and rainbows for Halloween-themed hues. Mickey Mouse’s new costume includes a cape-like jacket and a spooky variation of his Disneyland70 sweatshirt. Minnie Mouse’s rainbow tutu has been transformed into a swirling mix of purple, green, and orange beneath a similar moto-style jacket.
Unlike some character makeovers exclusive to special events, these outfits will be worn during regular park hours throughout the Halloween Time season, which kicks off August 22 and runs through October 31, 2025. That means guests won’t need a separate Oogie Boogie Bash ticket to see Mickey and Minnie’s updated appearances.
Of course, Oogie Boogie Bash will still offer plenty of exclusive entertainment. Disney has confirmed that the after-hours event at Disney California Adventure Park will return, along with popular attraction overlays like Haunted Mansion Holiday, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.
General admission tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash go on sale June 26, 2026. Inspire Key holders will have early access beginning June 24, and remaining Magic Key holders will be eligible to purchase on June 25.
NEW: Oogie Boogie Bash tickets go on sale to the general public on June 26. Inspire Magic Key holders can purchase beginning June 24 and all MK holders can purchase beginning June 25.
