“It’s So Hot,” Guests Trapped on Broken Disney World Ride for Over 30 Minutes
A recent incident at Walt Disney World Resort left over a dozen guests trapped inside The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror for more than 30 minutes, enduring sweltering conditions during the unexpected delay. The beloved thrill ride, which has been a staple of Disney’s Hollywood Studios since 1994, came to a sudden stop midway through its drop sequence.
After the elevator car locked in place in the drop shaft, it unexpectedly ceased movement. Guests inside the ride vehicle faced rising temperatures, with some commenting, “It’s so hot.” TikTok user @sonotblazzed shared a video of the experience, describing it as “truly the scariest Tower of Terror experience I’ve ever had.”

“Had us all shaking at the end,” the TikToker added.
Riders remained stranded for over half an hour while Disney cast members worked behind the scenes. Overhead lights eventually illuminated the shaft, and guests were instructed to stay seated as they awaited further instructions.
Despite the heat and anxiety, no evacuation was necessary. A Disney cast member later announced the ride would resume the drop sequence, allowing the guests to complete their experience. The attraction reopened and was operating normally when this report was published.
Walt Disney World Resort typically does not comment on minor ride interruptions, and this case followed that trend. Still, the ordeal left guests with a memorable — if sweaty — story to tell.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror debuted at Walt Disney World Resort in 1994 and was the first of its kind by Walt Disney Imagineering. While other versions exist in California, Tokyo, and Paris, the Central Florida ride remains unique in the United States following the 2017 retheme of Disneyland Resort’s version to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!.
