Just when we thought the Disney Villains couldn’t get any bigger, The Walt Disney Company dropped a bombshell announcement that’s sure to thrill fans. The news came just one day after Walt Disney World Resort dropped the grand opening date for its upcoming Disney Villains experience.
Walt Disney World Resort is gearing up for the grand opening of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, an all-new show coming to the Sunset Showcase at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This latest addition was first teased by Walt Disney Imagineering last year, but on Wednesday, Walt Disney World Resort revealed the show will officially debut on May 27, 2025.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. At the D23 Expo 2024, Disney Experience Chairman Josh D’Amaro confirmed that Imagineers are working on a full-blown Disney Villains land at Magic Kingdom Park. What was once just a “blue sky” idea has now become a reality, with all-new attractions, shops, and dining options dedicated to the characters we love to hate.
Though we don’t yet know when this new land will open, Walt Disney World Resort has revealed that it will take over the unused space beyond “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad,” vastly expanding Magic Kingdom Park’s footprint. The Disney Villains are about to take over in a way we’ve never seen before!
But that’s not all. During the Nintendo Direct on March 27, Disney stunned fans with the surprise announcement of a new video game: “Disney Villains Cursed Café.” The game is already available for purchase on Xbox, Steam, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
“Disney Villains Cursed Café” lets players step into the shoes of a “Potion-ista” who creates magical concoctions for some of the most famous Disney baddies, including Ursula, Jafar, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, Gaston, Captain Hook, and The Evil Queen.
In the game, players work with Yzma to discover rare ingredients and craft potions that influence each Villain’s destiny. Every Villain has a unique request, and players must choose their ingredients wisely to shape their story.
For just $14.99, you can dive into the chaotic world of your favorite nefarious characters and create potions with the potential to change their fate.
