Disneyland Removes Upcoming Christian Celebration From Park

Disneyland Resort is making some unexpected changes to its plans for the 2025 Easter season.

Though Easter isn’t typically as prominent as other holidays at the Disney parks, it’s still a beloved time for visitors. Many look forward to Easter egg hunts, seasonal treats, and the chance to meet the Easter Bunny on Disneyland Park’s Main Street, U.S.A. However, this year, one cherished tradition will be missing from the lineup.

The chocolate Easter eggs from Candy Palace at Disneyland Park have been a fan favorite for several years. These handmade treats, filled with peanut butter fudge, chocolate cream fudge, and other delightful flavors, drew long lines of guests each morning. Watching Disney cast members craft these unique eggs added a magical touch to the experience for Disney Park guests of all ages. However, in 2025, Disneyland Resort will not offer the chocolate Easter eggs that have become a symbol of the season for many theme park guests.

Disney Parks Blog’s Easter Foodie Guide for Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort did not include the chocolate Easter eggs, signaling their removal. Instead, returning seasonal treats at Disneyland Resort will include Bunny Cereal Treats, caramel apples, and Easter cake pops. While these treats are sure to be enjoyed, the absence of the chocolate Easter eggs leaves a noticeable gap in the celebration.

Disneyland Resort has not officially disclosed the reason behind the removal of the beloved Easter eggs, but reports from WDWNT suggest that the removal is due to “budget cuts.” The handmade nature of the eggs and the labor-intensive process of creating them may have made the offering too costly to continue. With the demand for mass-produced alternatives, Disney likely decided to focus on more cost-effective seasonal treats instead.

While Disneyland Resort has not confirmed whether budget cuts caused the eggs’ removal, the park has been reducing various offerings over the past year. Several entertainment options were already removed from Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park in the past, leading some to anticipate additional changes in the near future.

  1. Shame on you, Jess. Chocolate Eggs are not a “Christian” celebration.
Eggs celebrate SPRING. Chicks hatching from eggs, baby animals being born, flowers blooming after a cold, wet winter.

  2. I have to agree! Easter Eggs are a celebration of Spring, it was made up so egg prodding chickens didn’t miss work!

Seriously, I was about to be irate when I first saw a headline that said “Disneyland removes Christian Celebrations!”
Let’s make it what it is, cocoa prices are extremely high right now, labor is intensive on these treats so they cut them. Too bad penny wise pound foolish
