Countless Guests Locked Out of Disneyland as Ticket Sales Cease

As of February 24, 2025, guests are unable to purchase three out of four tiers of Disneyland Resort Magic Key Passes. The latest round of sales for Magic Key Passes began on January 22.

Disneyland Resort’s Magic Key Pass program, which replaced the previous Annual Pass system in 2021, has seen a series of sellouts for the various tiers. With each new sale window, the more popular tiers sell out quickly. As of Monday, the middle-tier Believe Key is no longer available for new purchases.

The Magic Key program was introduced as a replacement for Disneyland Resort’s former Annual Pass system in 2021. The Magic Key program initially included four tiers: Dream Key, Believe Key, Enchant Key, and Imagine Key. However, after a lawsuit filed by Dream Key holders for misleading information about block-out dates, the Dream Key was replaced with the Inspire Key, and the benefits for Magic Key holders were adjusted.

The Class Action lawsuit alleged that Disneyland Resort had misrepresented the Dream Key’s block-out dates, with some Disney Park Pass reservations unavailable for Dream Key holders even though they were promised unrestricted access. The lawsuit led to a $9.5 million settlement and the end of the Dream Key.

The Believe Key sold out on February 24, according to Disneyland Resort’s website. Though this middle-tier pass remains available for renewal for existing holders, no new guests can purchase it. This leaves potential Disney Park-goers with fewer options for buying a Magic Key Pass for the first time. The only Magic Key currently available for purchase is the Enchant Key, which costs $974. This tier provides reservation-based admission to the parks on select days of the year, as well as discounts on parking, dining, and merchandise.

The Inspire Key, which remains the highest available tier, sold out earlier in the month, leaving a shortage of available options for those wanting to enjoy the full benefits of a Magic Key Pass. The Imagine Key, which is available exclusively to Southern California residents, is also available for renewal but not for new purchases.

For those who still hold the Believe Key, it offers a variety of benefits that allow guests to enjoy Disneyland Resort with fewer limitations. Among the perks included are Park Hopper admission on most days, 50% off parking, 10% off select dining and merchandise, unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos, and a 25% discount on Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
