How to Spend a Perfect Day at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Conveniently located just steps from Magic Kingdom and perched along the monorail line, Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the ultimate blend of modern luxury and timeless Disney magic.

Whether you’re a guest staying at the resort or simply exploring for the day, a full lineup of experiences awaits you: delicious dining, scenic strolls, relaxing lounges, and unforgettable views. Here’s how to spend the perfect day at this iconic resort, hour by hour.

8:00 a.m. – Breakfast with Mickey at Chef Mickey’s

Kick off your day with a magical breakfast at Chef Mickey’s in the resort’s central atrium. This all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet is a family favorite, serving classics like Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, and smoked bacon.

Best of all, Mickey Mouse and his classic friends, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto, make special appearances, all dressed in adorable chef outfits.

This is the only place at Walt Disney World where you can dine with all five of these beloved characters in one restaurant. They stop by each table to wave, pose for photos, and bring plenty of smiles to start your day off with Disney magic.

9:30 a.m. – Scenic Stroll Around Seven Seas Lagoon

After breakfast, stretch your legs with a peaceful walk along the resort pathways. Start from the Contemporary and follow the trail toward Magic Kingdom’s entrance, then take the picturesque walking path toward Disney’s Grand Floridian and Polynesian Village Resort.

Enjoy beautiful water views, spot the monorail above, and enjoy the lush landscaping across multiple deluxe resorts.

11:00 a.m. – Monorail Ride Back to the Contemporary

When it’s time to return, hop on the Resort Monorail Loop from the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian Village Resort. More than just convenient, the monorail offers a scenic ride with sweeping views of Seven Seas Lagoon, boat docks, sandy beaches, and lush landscaping.

Along the way, take in the elegant charm of the Grand Floridian and the tropical atmosphere of the Polynesian, and even catch glimpses of Cinderella Castle in the distance.

For more sights, transfer to the EPCOT Monorail Line at the Ticket and Transportation Center and enjoy a grand circle tour through the park’s entrance. This tour includes aerial views of Spaceship Earth and shimmering fountains.

Returning to the Contemporary is especially memorable; you’ll glide through the heart of the iconic A-frame tower and arrive right inside the Grand Canyon Concourse, a true Disney classic.
