8 Things You’ll Love About The Oasis At Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom

I love spots around Disney that are less well known. Finding hidden gems is a Disney freak’s dream. The Oasis is one of those spots. Make sure to spend some time in this awesome area in Animal Kingdom! Here are some things I think you’ll love about the Oasis:

1. The Music

When I think of Animal Kingdom music, this is what I think of. My family even has a CD of this music loop that we play at home all the time to bring some of the magic. More often than not, this Oasis music loop is the soundtrack you hear as you first enter the Park. It’s so unique and interesting, calming and exciting, fun and magical.

2. Educational Aspect

Animal Kingdom is all about educating guests on the importance of the environment and what we can do to conserve. One of the easiest and best ways to do that is to show guests just what they would be conserving. The Oasis does this beautifully, without shoving anything down your throat. You get to see these animals as they should be and learn a little bit more about them through the signs around the enclosures.

3. Cast Members

You get to learn more about animals by watching them, but also from the amazing Cast Members who work in this area. Throughout the day Cast Members can be found wandering this and the entrance area with little cages of fuzzy creepy crawlers. They’re there to talk about the critters and answer any questions you might have.

4. Not Usually Crowded

Another nice thing about the Oasis is that it’s usually not very crowded. It won’t be deserted by any means, but you’ll be able to meander at a leisurely pace with no problem. I think this is because many guests tend to just make a beeline for the safari to get to their FastPasses in time (guilty…). But this is such a great area that shouldn’t be forgotten!

5. Great Introduction

Something I love about The Oasis is that it provides a really great introduction to Animal Kingdom Park itself. The Oasis kind of encompasses everything wonderful and important to Animal Kingdom. From the animals to the natural beauty, the Oasis has it all and gives a nice breath of fresh air that you’ll carry with you all day.

6. The Animals

Well, duh! You’ll love the animals in the Oasis! Throughout this area there are several enclosures tucked away that are home to some pretty cool creatures. There are five main animals to discover: Giant Anteater, Exotic Boar, Barking Deer, Wallaby, and Spoonbill. You can also spot the occasional duck or bird or something too. They’re so amazing, be sure to find all of them!

7. Beauty

The Oasis area is beautiful. It truly feels like stepping into a rainforest. The Exhibit is covered in lush greenery and flora. My favorite part of the nature there is the many caves and waterfalls throughout. Some of them are so close you can touch them. I love how you can get totally immersed in the beauty of this place.

8. Rest Area

The Oasis also provides a really lovely area to rest. Because of the greenery everywhere, this is one of the only places in Animal Kingdom that has a lot of shade. Disney planned for this and put several benches along the pathway as well. Between the shade, music, and natural beauty, the Oasis is a wonderful, relaxing spot to take a breather.
