7 Things Disney Insiders Love About Shopping At Walt Disney World
With places like Disney Springs, Main Street, U.S.A. and stores at each resort, it’s easy to see that shopping is an integral part of the Disney experience. Guests want to make purchases that will show off their Disney side, or bring home souvenirs from their vacation, and Disney offers some of the best shopping around! Here are 7 things Disney insiders love about shopping at Disney.
7. World of Disney
World of Disney in Disney Springs is the world’s largest Disney store. You might find some Disney items for sale here that you may not find elsewhere, so it’s worth taking your time going through each room. This is a great place to pick up those souvenirs you may have neglected to pick up when you first saw them in the parks. Disney insiders also know to shop at World of Disney during the day if possible, because this huge store can become extremely packed during peak times in the evenings.
6. Delivery
Disney offers a very helpful service for guests and shoppers at Disney. If you’re staying at a resort, you can have your purchases sent to the store at your resort for pick-up later. This is one of the best services that Disney offers, it means you can shop ‘til your hearts content and not have to worry about lugging it around the park with you all day. If you are only visiting the park for the day, Disney offers the package pick up program. Let the cast member know, while they are cashing you out, that you wish to pick up your package when you leave the park. They will send your purchases to a location near the front gate where you can collect your items as you exit the park. This is also a great service for resort guests who are making purchases on their last day of vacation and can’t have purchases sent back to the resort. For a fee, Disney will also ship your purchases home for you, which may be less expensive than paying for overweight luggage at the airport.
5. Shopping in the World Showcase
Epcot’s World Showcase offers a completely unique shopping experience that Disney fans and insiders continue to go back for time and time again. The pavilions offer all kinds of items from food, kitchenware, clothes and handmade goods that are from and represent each country in the Showcase. The pavilions also offer merchandise inspired by both their country and Disney! It’s unlikely you will find such items at your local Disney Store.
4. Adding to Collections
It’s not uncommon for Disney fans to start collecting particular lines of merchandise at Disney, such as Vinylmation, pins, character sketches or even mugs. Many Disney insiders love shopping and searching for the next piece to add to their collection, and they might even do a little research before getting to the parks so they know exactly what they’re looking for. There is great satisfaction in finding that perfect item to add to your ever-growing Disney collection.

3. Christmas Shopping
Christmas is a magical time, so Disney Christmas shops and products feel extra magical! There are a few shops on Disney property that celebrate Christmas year round, which means Disney guests can shop for Christmas decorations or gifts any time of the year. When you enter one of the Disney Christmas stores, such as Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom, take a moment to smell the scents of pine trees and spices, it’s sure to put you in the Christmas spirit!
2. Exclusive Items
There are some items and products that are exclusive to the Disney Theme Parks. Some may be available online, but not everything, and there is something special about buying souvenirs in person at Disney as opposed to receiving them in mail.
The Dooney & Bourke Disney Park collection of bags and purses are a very popular Disney exclusive, and many styles and designs can be found at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs. There is also a great deal of art that is available exclusively at the parks. There are countless special theme park products for Disney fans young and old, and they’re wonderful mementos of your favorite Disney vacation.
1. Attraction Shopping
While Disney insiders are fans of Disney merchandise in general, they’re also fans of particular attractions. Many Disney attractions have their very own shop and merchandise to cater to fans of the Haunted Mansion, the Tower of Terror, or the Pirates of the Caribbean, to name just a few. Disney insiders love to browse shops dedicated to their favorite attraction, they love to have choices as opposed to just one t-shirt, or a mug to show their love for the Haunted Mansion. Memento Mori is an amazing shop that only offers items inspired by the Haunted Mansion and its many happy haunts. Some of the products you find in these shops are not available in other stores on Disney property, so don’t pass up a great find if you won’t have the opportunity to head back a second time!
