Choosing the best place to stay is a large part of planning any Walt Disney World vacation. Location is important because you will want to stay at someplace fabulous and convenient. There is no Disney’s Hollywood Studios Resort Area, but there is an Epcot Resort Area, and that is what is discussed below. The hotels included are Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, and Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is also considered to be in the Epcot Resort Area, but since it is not as close to Disney’s Hollywood Studios it is not included here. The Swan and Dolphin are not owned by Walt Disney World, and guests might not be eligible for all benefits, such as the Disney Dining Plan. Here are seven reasons why you will love staying near Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

7. Crescent Lake

If you’re staying near Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll be staying at a resort along Crescent Lake. The area is beautiful. You can take a walk around the lake, or rent a bike or a boat. Make sure that you stop by in the evening, it really comes alive. You can watch street performers from 7:00-10:00, play carnival games, and enjoy a great view of the fireworks portion of IllumiNations. Try to catch at least one Crescent Lake sunset. You’ll want to have your camera ready.

6. Play a Round of Miniature Golf

If you’re staying close to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and are taking a few hours off, there is a fun way to pass the time nearby. Head over to Fantasia Garden and Fairways Miniature Golf and play a round or two. The whole family will have a great time, and you’ll be able to relax your pace for a little while. Fantasia Garden is close enough to walk to, just ask a Cast Member for directions.

5. Fantastic Restaurants

The dining at the resorts near Disney’s Hollywood Studios is incredible. You can enjoy sushi or the best steak of your life. There’s seafood, Italian, and character dining. If you’re in the mood for ice cream there are several different options. There’s also pizza, pastries, and a funnel cake stand. Because of the proximity to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot, you can leave the park for a couple of hours, enjoy a quiet meal, then head back for more theme park fun.

4. Active Nightlife

Looking for a little adult time without the kids around? You’ll find plenty for the 21 and up crowd if you stay near Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can try your hand at karaoke, sip on an exotic drink, or dance the night away. If you’d prefer a quiet drink there are also lounges. Walt Disney World isn’t just for kids, there is plenty for the adults to do as well.

3. Amazing Resorts

No matter which resort you decide to stay at, you are going to be impressed. The themes will take you back in time or up the Atlantic Coast. The rooms are large and comfortable, you’ll feel as if you’re at home. At these resorts you’ll find some of the best pools at Walt Disney World. As already mentioned, there are world class restaurants. You can watch free movies under the stars, work out in a fitness club, play arcade games, or let the kids blow off some steam at a playground. The resorts that are near Disney’s Hollywood Studios are some of the finest that you will find at Walt Disney World.

2. Walk to Epcot

Time is everything on a Walt Disney World vacation, you won’t want to waste a second. If you stay near Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll be able to get to Epcot quickly. All that you’ll have to do is walk to the International Gateway entrance, and you’ll find yourself in World Showcase in no time at all! The quick walk is especially convenient at night after IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Guests who are walking towards the main Epcot entrance will head into the crowds and have to wait, but you’ll be back in your room (or enjoying the nightlife) before you know it. If you don’t want to walk there are also boats that go between any of the resorts on Crescent Lake to and from the International Gateway entrance.

1. Walk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Again, you will want to make the most of your time. If you’re staying near Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll be able to walk to the park. The walking path may be a little bit long for some people, for most it will take between 15 and 20 minutes, depending on your pace. It’s a pleasant walk, you’ll be strolling along the water. When you get close you’ll have a memorable view of the park, which might cause you to pick up your pace a little. The walking path is also convenient at the end of the night. Again there are boats to and from the park, but walking will save you a lot of time.

About PaulaK

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
