7 Reasons You Will Love Staying At A Deluxe Resort At Walt Disney World
When it comes to choosing a Walt Disney World Resort to visit, there are a number of important factors to consider. Once you have decided which resort is for you, it will become your home away from home during your time on Disney property, so it’s important to weigh all of your options. Disney offers a diverse group of resorts to meet the needs of any guest and each resort comes with its own perks for staying there. For guests considering the Deluxe level, we have put together a list of 7 reasons why you will love staying at your resort.
7. The Rooms
In general, staying at a Deluxe Resort means that your room will be large. In terms of square feet, the resort rooms offer a more comfortable space to move around in and feel like you have a chance to stretch out. Larger rooms also mean more elaborate in-room furniture including artistic bedframes, dressers, writing tables and couches. In addition, the rooms have larger bath areas with a bigger tub/shower area and two sinks so more people can get ready in the morning at the same time. Almost all Deluxe resort rooms also have a patio or balcony, giving you your own private retreat whether the kids are inside playing around, or if you’d just like a quiet getaway at the end of your day.
6. Unique Transportation
While the Walt Disney World transportation system offers incredibly reliable bus service, there are other ways to access the parks from the Deluxe resorts, including boat and monorail service depending on your location and destination. Boats that run between the resorts and the parks offer a relaxing and enjoyable experience as you head out on the water, taking in the beautiful scenery. Captains are courteous and the boats never feel overly crowded, making for a comfortable journey. The monorail serves the Polynesian, Contemporary and Grand Floridian resorts on a loop between the Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center. Once at the TTC, guests can grab another monorail to Epcot, making for a great way to travel between the resort and the parks.
5. Pools
For guests looking to relax at the resort, there’s no better way to break up a hot Florida day than by taking a dip in the incredible pools each resort has to offer. Each pool is beautifully themed to match the resort landscape while providing a fun environment for kids, teens and adults. For instance, the 3-acre water wonderland Stormalong Bay shared between the Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts has windmills, islands and an old ship that has run aground. The Animal Kingdom Lodge houses the Samawati Springs and Uzima pools which are surrounded by canopy trees, palm trees and feel like you are at the beach with zero-depth entry points. Many of the resort pools also have a waterslide, giving guests of all ages a fun way to add thrills to their swim.
4. Recreation
In addition to the pools, the Deluxe Resorts offer some unique extras for guests who are looking to enjoy a variety of experiences. Some of the resorts have motorized boat rentals, giving guests the opportunity to take to the water themselves, whether it be on a boat or jet-ski. Fishing and Parasailing are other ways to enjoy the waters around the resorts, like the seven-seas lagoon. The Beach Club resort offers quick access to the Fantasia Gardens Mini-Golf courses for families looking to have some fun during the day or in the evening. For kids, a number of the resorts have playgrounds and activity centers. For the adults, the Grand Floridian houses the Senses Spa, a Victorian-themed spa designed to give you an incredibly relaxing experience.

3. Views
Each Deluxe Resort offers a different breathtaking view, depending on where they are located on Disney property. The Magic Kingdom resorts surround the beautiful Seven Seas Lagoon, with lush and meticulously kept landscapes. They also provide a perfect view of the park itself, making them prime locations to watch Happily Ever After. The same can be said for the Epcot area resorts watching the fireworks of IllumiNations nightly from the comfort of their own balcony. The Animal Kingdom Lodge has an incredibly unique benefit in the form of the Animals living on the Savannah beside the resort. What better way to start your morning than to wake up to over 200 different animals?
2. Proximity to the Park
With Deluxe Resorts being located so close to the parks, you can be sure that at least one of your commutes will be incredibly short. Outside of the Magic Kingdom, guests can hop on the monorail for a quick and gentle ride to the park, while guests at the Contemporary Resort are within walking distance to the most magical place on earth. Similarly, the Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk Resorts outside of Epcot are no more than a 10-15 minute walk from the park, including a second entrance for guests so they don’t have to wait in the primary entrance line before entering the park.
1. Fine Dining
It’s hard to talk about the Deluxe Resorts without mentioning the incredible dining available. At each resort, there are a combination of quick service and table service restaurants to meet the tastes of any guest, but when it comes to fine dining, the Deluxe Resorts offer some of the very best in all of Walt Disney World. The Contemporary Resort houses the California Grill on the 15th floor with a menu of spectacular Californian cuisine, while the Polynesian’s ‘Ohana offers a Hawaiian-style Feast. The African flavors of Jiko and Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge are a perfect way to enjoy an evening at the resort while the Grand Floridian offers three incredible fine-dining restaurants in the form of Cítricos, Narcoossee’s and the prestigious Victoria & Albert’s
