6 Things You May Not Have Tried At Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is a place where memories and traditions are made. We all have our favorite restaurants, attractions, and shows to experience, but why not try something new next time you go? Here are a few out-of-the-box experiences you may not have tried yet at the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

6. Bob Jackson

I’ve said it once and I’ve said it again: if you’re in for a good time, go see Bob! Bob Jackson is a singing, dancing, and piano-playing performer with shows at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Multiple nights per week he gets the whole entire River Roost Bar on its feet, hooting and hollering from 8pm until midnight. This is one family-friendly party you won’t want to miss!

5. Disney’s Boardwalk

Walt Disney World’s Boardwalk is home to fine dining, fun entertainment, and deluxe resorts. The Boardwalk, just a short boat ride from Epcot, is a great place to walk around, without constantly feeling surrounded by park guests. The intimate setting makes it a perfect “date destination.”

4. Watersports/rental boats

Did you know that you can rent boats and watersports equipment at the Walt Disney World resorts? If this is news to you, then you’re in for a treat! A few moderate and deluxe resorts, (Port Orleans Riverside, Polynesian, Contemporary, etc.), have two-person speedboats available for rent! Guests can take these boats through the Riverside’s canals and out on Bay Lake for a whole new way to experience Walt Disney World. At Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you can go parasailing and rent watersports equipment for use on Bay Lake. Talk about taking Disney magic to a new and exciting level!

3. Baby’s first haircut

Who knew you could get a haircut at a theme park? I certainly didn’t know until just recently about the “first haircut package” offered at the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. This package includes certificate of bravery and special mouse ears! A child’s first haircut is a memorable experience, so why not make it an extra magical part of your vacation?

2. Movie date at a resort

Not going to lie, this is my dream date. I’m a hopeless-romantic/Disney-addict, so it really doesn’t get much better than this. In recent years, more and more Disney resorts have jumped on the bandwagon of showing movies on their premises. Most of the resorts have a nightly movie, usually outside, where you can pull up a blanket or chair and catch a Disney classic on the big screen. If you’re lucky, you may even get to roast marshmallows close by. Check out the Polynesian Resort beach and the Beach Club Resort for my personal favorite movie-watching locations!

1. 24-hour Disney day:

This annual Disney event is a must-do for those who want to get the most out of their Disney days. Can you fathom being in the Magic Kingdom park for a full 24 hours! Imagine how much Disney magic you could stuff into a full day! Best day ever, right?

About Alexandra Blazevich

Hello, my name is Alexandra Blazevich and I am a 22 year old journalist. Put quite simply, I am a Disney addict. I am originally from Cary, North Carolina, a small town just outside of Raleigh. In 2013, I moved to Orlando, Florida to dance with The Orlando Ballet, pursuing my childhood dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer- but I spent all my free time either in Disney World or thinking about it. Now, I am a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill and write for a various publications, but Disney will always be my favorite subject to write about.
