5 Magic Kingdom Snacks You Should Probably Skip

One of the highlights of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is the incredible food you’ll enjoy throughout your stay. Disney World doesn’t settle for typical theme park fare; they take dining to the next level. From convenient grab-and-go snacks to quick-service favorites and unforgettable character dining experiences, there’s something to satisfy every taste.

Each of Disney’s four theme parks—EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom—offers its own unique culinary gems. However, not every dish hits the mark, and each park also has its share of misses.

While the Magic Kingdom has its share of delicious treats, there are a few items that consistently miss the mark. Based on taste, quality, or value, these snacks might be worth skipping on your next visit.

Let’s dive in and talk about the most skippable snacks at the Magic Kingdom.

Sleepy Hollow Offerings

Sleepy Hollow once served as a hidden gem, offering hot, freshly made Belgian waffles topped with delightful options like Nutella, berries, or spicy chicken. However, in a recent menu overhaul, these beloved Belgian waffles were replaced with the more traditional Mickey waffles.

While Mickey waffles are a Disney breakfast classic, they lack the charm and flavor complexity of their predecessor. Guests now find the new offerings disappointing, as they simply cannot compare to the original, freshly made Belgian treats.

Plant-Based Cheese Pizza

The plant-based cheese pizza at Pinocchio Village Haus is another snack that fails to impress. Despite the rise in the quality of vegan dishes across Walt Disney World, this pizza’s crust has been criticized for its lackluster texture, and the plant-based cheese often melts unevenly, resulting in an unappetizing, gloppy mess.

While there are standout plant-based options at Magic Kingdom, such as the vegetable rice bowl at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café or the Impossible Meatloaf at The Diamond Horseshoe, this pizza is one to avoid.

Turkey Leg

The iconic turkey leg is often celebrated as a must-try Disney snack, but it’s not without its issues. Its massive size can be overwhelming, and many guests find it overly greasy and difficult to eat. Between the sinews and small bones, it can also be messy and unappetizing for some.

Though it has its fans, the turkey leg’s challenges make it a less-than-ideal choice for those seeking a hassle-free snack experience.

Churros

Churros are a staple at Disney parks, but Magic Kingdom’s offerings pale in comparison to those at Disneyland Resort. Unlike Disneyland, where seasonal and specialty churros are abundant, Magic Kingdom’s churros lack variety and innovation.

With so many other sweet treats available, such as the customizable popcorn options at the Main Street Confectionery, churros often feel like a missed opportunity in this park.

Magic Kingdom offers plenty of delicious snacks that are well worth your time and money. From Tropical Serenade floats to gourmet popcorn blends at the Kernel Kitchen, the park has something for every taste.

While the snacks above may disappoint, don’t let that deter you from exploring all the culinary delights Disney has to offer.
