2nd Disney Deluxe Resort Hit by Air Conditioning Failure as Florida Heat Intensifies
A Walt Disney World vacation is often defined by contrast. Long, hot days in the parks followed by the expectation of stepping back into a cool, air-conditioned resort room where everything feels calm again. It is one of the quiet but essential parts of the Disney experience that guests rarely think about until something goes wrong.

Right now, that comfort layer is being tested at more than one Disney resort.
Guests staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village have reported air conditioning issues affecting parts of the property, with room temperatures reportedly rising above typical comfort levels. At the same time, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge continues to deal with its own ongoing HVAC situation that has now stretched across multiple days.
Individually, either of these issues would be notable. Together, they are getting the attention of guests across social media and travel forums during one of the hottest stretches of the summer in Central Florida.
Guests Describe Warm Conditions Inside Kidani Village

Reports from Kidani Village began circulating after guests shared their experiences online during stays on June 23.
One guest described noticing that both their room and shared resort spaces were warmer than expected, especially compared to the usual climate-controlled feel of Disney Deluxe Resorts.
The guest wrote:
“Staying at Kidani and watching the room thermostat climb to 78, hallways and lobby which are usually very cool feel warm. Hope it’s not another Wilderness Lodge situation.”
Shortly after, they provided an update after speaking directly with Cast Members.
“Spoke to the front desk and yes the AC has been down this afternoon/evening. No ETA on a fix, engineers are working on it.”
By later in the evening, conditions had not changed significantly, and the guest noted that temporary fans were being offered upon request.
“Still down. They are offering small box fans upon request to rooms.”
While fans can provide some relief, they are not a replacement for full HVAC cooling, especially in Florida’s humid summer conditions where indoor temperatures can climb quickly without proper air circulation.
Online Reactions Show Growing Guest Awareness

As more guests reacted to the reports, conversations quickly shifted toward concern about whether this was an isolated issue or part of a larger pattern.
One guest commented, “That is disappointing. I would have hoped WL was a unique situation.”
Another added, “If it continues to spread… Disney has a bit of a problem on its hands…”
Others focused on environmental conditions in Orlando, pointing out that recent weather has included intense sun exposure and limited rainfall, which can place additional strain on cooling systems across large properties.
One comment noted:
“The biggest issues the last two days here in Orlando are the high heat and uninterrupted sun. We haven’t had any major rain since Saturday/Sunday so everything is just baking in the sun and that means lots of AC issues.”
While these are guest perspectives rather than official statements, they reflect how quickly Disney resort experiences become part of a broader real-time conversation among travelers.
Wilderness Lodge Continues to Work Through Ongoing Cooling Issues
The situation at Kidani Village is happening alongside a separate HVAC issue at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, which has been ongoing since last week in various forms.
Guests staying at Wilderness Lodge have reported warm indoor conditions in rooms and common areas, along with periods where air conditioning service was temporarily shut down to allow maintenance teams to work on repairs.
At one point, Disney reportedly paused cooling service in the morning hours during scheduled maintenance efforts aimed at restoring normal operation.
Since then, guests have seen a mix of partial improvements and continued instability depending on location within the resort.
Temporary Solutions Are Being Used on Property

These temporary cooling systems are commonly used in large resort environments when central HVAC systems require repair or replacement work. While they can help regulate temperatures in specific zones, they do not provide the same consistent cooling experience guests expect from a fully functioning system.
Some guests have also reported receiving assistance such as refunds, complimentary nights, or relocation options to other Walt Disney World resorts, including Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
Why This Stands Out for Disney Guests
HVAC issues at Disney resorts always draw attention because of how central comfort is to the overall vacation experience.
At properties like Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge, guests are not just booking a room. They are choosing immersive environments where indoor comfort plays a big role in the experience. Whether it is returning from Animal Kingdom after a long day or winding down after Magic Kingdom fireworks, a cool room is part of what makes the stay feel seamless.
When that expectation changes, even temporarily, it naturally becomes a noticeable disruption.
This is especially true during Florida’s peak summer season, when outdoor temperatures and humidity levels make indoor cooling systems essential.
What Guests Should Keep in Mind Right Now
At this time, both Kidani Village and Wilderness Lodge remain open and operational, and there has been no official indication that the issues are connected or part of a broader resort-wide system concern.
However, guests with upcoming stays may want to stay aware of ongoing updates and be prepared for potential adjustments depending on repair progress.
HVAC issues can evolve quickly in large resort environments, especially during periods of sustained heat like the one currently affecting Central Florida.
For travelers who prioritize in-room comfort, it may be worth checking in with Disney prior to arrival if staying at either resort in the immediate future.
A Reminder of How Much Resort Comfort Matters
Disney vacations are often planned around parks, attractions, dining, and entertainment, but resort conditions quietly shape the experience more than most guests realize.
When everything is working properly, it is easy to overlook. When it is not, it becomes one of the most important parts of the trip.
For now, guests at Kidani Village and Wilderness Lodge are keeping a close eye on updates while hoping for a return to normal conditions soon. And for many Disney travelers, this situation is a reminder of just how important that “cool room after a long park day” really is.
If you are staying at either resort right now or have a trip coming up soon, share your experience and what you are seeing on the ground. Real guest updates often paint the clearest picture of how things are changing day to day.
