On June 10, Walt Disney World Resort guests arrived at EPCOT to find a visually different theme park from the one families had encountered the day before. Let’s dive into what changed.

On Wednesday, some of the final traces of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival disappeared from the second Walt Disney World Resort theme park. WDWNT shared this photo of the empty grassy field along the World Showcase Lagoon where flowerbeds once bloomed.

The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival wrapped up on June 1, 2026. During the festival, this “Festival Blooms” area is typically full of colorful plants planted to make flowerbed murals of butterflies and floral imagery.

As of right now, only the flowerbeds along the World Showcase Lagoon on The Odyssey Pavilion on the west side of EPCOT have been removed. The Festival Blooms along the World Showcase Lagoon on the east side of EPCOT remain in place. However, Walt Disney World Resort’s horticulture team is expected to remove them in the coming days.

Crews also recently removed “The Citrus Blossom” decals from The Odyssey building after it was used to dispense limited-time food-and-beverage offerings tied to the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. New signage on the building indicates that Walt Disney World Resort plans to transform the space into a guest area called “Light Lounge.”

The next EPCOT festival, the International Food & Wine Festival, kicks off on August 27 and continues through November 21, 2026. After that, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is expected to run from November 27 to December 30, 2026. Although Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t confirmed this timeline, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays usually runs from the Friday after Thanksgiving through December 30.
