10 Ways To Celebrate Your Birthday At Walt Disney World

Disney World is the perfect place for any celebration. Disney excels in creating memories and magical moments, so what better place to celebrate your birthday or the birthday of someone you love than at Disney? Here are 10 ways to celebrate a birthday at Walt Disney World.

10. Buttons

Disney has a number of complimentary buttons available to help guests celebrate their special day at the parks, and one of the buttons available is a birthday button. These buttons are available at Guest Relations in each park, and also at the front desk of the resorts. There are even a few cast members who walk around the parks, and Disney Springs, who have an assortment of buttons and they are always happy to find you the perfect button for your celebration. When wearing one of these buttons, cast members, and even other guests, will wish you a happy birthday and it may even lead to a little extra pixie dust here and there.

9. Order a Cake

Cake is a traditional way to celebrate a birthday, so what better way to celebrate a birthday at Disney than with a Disney cake? Disney has a Cake Ordering Hotline, and calling them is the best way to place an order for a birthday cake. You can arrange for delivery to your resort room, or it can be delivered to the restaurant of your choice, but make sure you have secured a reservation there first. It’s best to place your cake order at least 72 hours in advance, but no more than 3 weeks in advance.

8. Character Meet and Greets

Meeting characters is a memorable way to celebrate a birthday at Disney. Getting a birthday photo with your favorite character and having them wish you a happy birthday definitely makes for a special day. You can also get in touch ahead of time with a restaurant that features character meet and greets to see if they will help you arrange for a character to give the person celebrating the birthday in your party a gift (that you have provided of course). Disney has wonderful customer service and will do their best to make a birthday celebration magical.

7. T-Shirts

Personalized t-shirts are a great way to celebrate a birthday at Disney World. There are so many etsy shops that create special Disney t-shirts, or you can create your own t-shirts at home. This is a wonderful way to really personalize a particular birthday celebration. Let everyone know who the birthday boy or girl is with more than just the button.

6. Dessert Parties

The Fireworks Dessert Party – Tomorrowland Terrace or Plaza Garden Viewing parties at Magic Kingdom offer delicious desserts and a truly magical view of Happily Ever After. There is also a dessert party at Epcot called Frozen Ever After Dessert Party, which offers VIP seating for Epcot’s nighttime spectacular, sweet treats, and a ride on Frozen Ever After. Last but not least is Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party at Hollywood Studios. This is one epic dessert party with great views of the fireworks and tasty desserts and beverages. Any of these would be a great option for a birthday celebration, but they can get expensive and do require reservations!

5. Disney Floral and Gifts

Disney Floral and Gifts is the official florist at Walt Disney World. They feature story based gifts and flowers, and in-room celebrations. This service does cost extra, and depending on the type of gifts you choose, it can be costly, but perhaps it is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday at Disney. They help create magical moments that will ensure you never forget this birthday celebration at the most magical place on earth.

4. Princesses and Pirates

There are two spectacular experiences for younger boys and girls celebrating a birthday at Disney. The fairy godmothers in training at the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutiques in Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs will wave a wand and transform your birthday girl into the princess of her choice, or the birthday boy can be transformed into a dashing knight. Or celebrate a birthday by joining the Pirate League at Magic Kingdom, and transform the birthday boy or girl into one of Captain Jack Sparrow’s crewmembers complete with beards, scars and eye patches. Adventure and fairytales are a wonderful way for the birthday boy or girl to feel special and will give them long lasting memories of a magical birthday.

3. Pick a Present

Disney has some of the best shopping there out there. Whether you’re shopping at the parks or at Disney Springs, or even at the resort, there are so many amazing stores to experience with all the best Disney merchandise. Surprises are great, but so is being able to pick out that perfect birthday gift, so take your time strolling along Main Street USA or in all the rooms at World of Disney and find that perfect gift to remember a birthday at Disney.

2. Splurge

Do something a little extra to celebrate a birthday. Maybe you’ve always wanted to go on the Keys to the Kingdom tour, or the Wild Africa Trek tour, and a birthday is a great reason to spend the extra money and take that tour! Or perhaps this is the perfect occasion to splurge and make that dinner reservation for Victoria & Albert’s, spend a night in a Deluxe resort, or enjoy splurging at Senses Spa. Whatever that extra special something is for the person celebrating a birthday, this is the perfect time to sprinkle some extra pixie dust on your celebration at Disney.

1. Let the Birthday Boy or Girl Decide

Let the birthday boy or girl plan their special day. What park do they want to spend the day at? Where do they want to eat? What shows do they want to see, or which attractions do they want to ride? This may take some pre-planning, but let the birthday person have their very own magical day in the most magical place on earth.
