9. Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World
It is no surprise that Disney fans argue over which resort they like better. In my opinion, the comparison is unfair, as both resorts are completely different, so this is essentially like comparing apples to oranges. Disneyland fans often argue that it is the original park, and therefore it is superior. Walt Disney World fans usually bring up the size of the resort, and how there is so much more to do in all of the parks offered in Florida. A more useful comparison would be Disneyland vs. Magic Kingdom, however more often than not this argument turns into the Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World debate.
8. Dining Plan vs. No Dining Plan
Disney fans love to argue about whether or not the Disney Dining Plan is worth it. Some families swear by it. They keep track of their receipts, and know what they would have spent, and therefore see the plan as a great value. Others are overwhelmed by the amount of food offered on the plan, and are dissatisfied by paying in advance for food they would not have otherwise eaten. This argument will likely never get anywhere, because the value of the plan is entirely dependent on each party’s eating habits.
7. Dole Whips vs. Dole Whip Floats
Almost any fan can agree that a Disney vacation is not complete without a Dole Whip, but did you know there are fans who would argue over which kind is the best? Most of the argument centers around the Dole Whip cups of just the ice cream, and the Dole Whip Floats, which sit atop a cup of pineapple juice. Sometimes the Citrus Swirl gets thrown into the argument as well.
6. Characters in World Showcase
Allowing characters in World Showcase is somewhat of a controversy among Disney fans, and it can usually become a cause for an argument. When el Rio del Tiempo was changed into the Gran Fiesta Tour starring the Three Caballeros, some Disney fans fumed at the thought of characters being added to an attraction in World Showcase. There seems to be less arguments taking place over meet and greets in this portion of Epcot, however characters being added to World Showcase attractions can easily start an argument between Disney fans who differ on the issue.
5. Avatar in Animal Kingdom
The announcement that Avatar will have a presence in Animal Kingdom caused a number of arguments among Disney fans. Some fans believe that it will be a great addition to the park. They think that it will be beautifully done, and give more of a reason to be in the park at night when all of the animal attractions are closed for the day. Other fans do not see Avatar as fitting in with the theme of the park, and would rather see it go elsewhere.
4. Staying On or Off Property
Staying on property and Staying offsite has caused arguments among Disney fans as well, however this is a similar situation to the Disneyland/Walt Disney World debate, where it is really difficult to compare the two. Generally, the on property fans want to be immersed in the Disney experience for their entire vacation. But aside from that, it can be easier and more cost effective depending on if you have your own transportation. If you fly into Orlando, and have no car, staying on property allows you to be close to the parks without worrying about transportation as Disney’s transportation system can take you anywhere you’ll need to go. Offsite fans might argue that staying offsite with a car allows them to be more spontaneous, as they do not need to wait on Disney transportation, and they are able to explore other parts of Orlando as well.

3. Deluxe, Moderate, or Value Resorts
Sometimes Disney fans argue about which resorts are best , deluxe, moderate, or values. For some people, a vacation is not a vacation if they’re not spending it by the volcano pool at the Polynesian. For others, the values are the best option, especially if you’re really only going to be at the hotel to take showers and sleep.
2. Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride vs. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
When it was announced that Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride would be replaced with the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, a number of arguments took place among Disney fans. Some fans were ready for a change, and welcomed Pooh with open arms. Even more fans however, supported Toad, and took part in peaceful protests outside the attraction in an attempt to save it. As we now know, Mr. Toad was not saved, and Pooh won in the end, but the topic can still cause a fiery debate among diehard Disney fans.
1. Frozen in the Parks
The presence of Frozen in the parks is the newest, most heated cause for arguments among Disney fans. Since the popularity of the movie, which came out for Thanksgiving of 2013, Disney has wasted no time implementing Frozen attractions and events into the parks. Frozen Summer Fun in Hollywood Studios was generally well received. The larger controversy regarding Frozen in the parks came when it was announced that the Maelstrom in World Showcase would be replaced with a Frozen attraction.
