There is something special about Walt Disney World. There’s a reason why it’s one of the top tourist destinations on the planet – it is magical. A high percentage of those visitors are repeat guests, it’s the type of place that people want to return to time and time again. Believe it or not, there are some people out there who don’t quite understand. Here are ten excuses that you can give when someone asks you why you’re planning yet another Walt Disney World vacation. Disney rookies can use many of these excuses as well to justify their first trips. This list is not meant to be confused with the Reasons to Visit Walt Disney World RIGHT NOW series that we have here on DisneyDining.com. These excuses are more generic. If you have a favorite excuse that didn’t make this list, feel free to post it below.
10. It’s Been too Long
Whether it’s been a few weeks or a few years, it’s been too long since your last Walt Disney World vacation. In fact, the moment you leave the property it’s been too long since you’ve been there. Things are constantly changing at Walt Disney World, sometimes without much notice. You don’t want to feel like you’ve missed out. You need to return as soon as possible.
9. It’s Great Exercise
Walt Disney World is a fantastic place to get into shape. You will walk for miles in the theme parks each day. You can also swim, or take advantage of a fitness club if you stay at select resorts. If that’s not enough, you can rent a bike or play a game of volleyball. If you make healthy food choices it is possible to lose weight on a Walt Disney World vacation. What better place to start your new routine?
8. You Need to Hit a Water Park
Walt Disney World is home to two of the most popular water parks on the planet. You can splash down and cool off no matter what time of the year you visit. There are two things that you need to remember concerning Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. First, the weather is important. If storms are coming in you won’t be allowed in the water. Temperature is also a factor, check before heading to a water park on a cold day to make sure that it is open. Second, from mid-October until mid-March there will only be one park open. One will close for several weeks for its annual refurbishment, then that will reopen and the other will close. Disney rotates which park closes first.
7. You Want to Try _____ (fill in the blank)
There is always something new opening or happening at Walt Disney World. That means you’ll always have an excuse to go back. You are going to want to try the newest restaurant, see the latest show, ride the brand new ride, or try a new menu item. You can also use as an excuse that you want to try something again because it was so spectacular the last time that you were there.
6. Real Life Is Hard
Walt Disney World is all about escaping from reality. You can’t even see the real world while you’re in a Disney theme park. Sometimes you need to leave the stresses of life behind for a little while, and just have fun. The magic at Walt Disney World allows you to do just that. You can laugh with the people that you love, and become a kid again for a few days.

5. The Force Has Awakened
Star Wars is hot right now, and you can experience it up close at Walt Disney World. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios you can watch special films about the saga, see replicas of props and costumes, take a picture with a Star Wars character or two, and a lot more. Your kids can battle the Dark Side in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. The whole family can enjoy the new scene and some changes in old ones on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. End your evening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with Symphony in the Stars; it’s a fireworks show set to music by the legendary John Williams. Star Wars Land is years away, but there are plenty of related activities to keep you busy during the wait.
4. Minnie Is Hosting a Dinner Party
There is a fabulous dinner party taking place each night at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it could be the perfect excuse that you need to head to Central Florida. Minnie’s Seasonal Dining is held at Hollywood & Vine, and it is already a hit. Mickey, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy join their friend, all dressed in their seasonal best. The unique feature of this meal is that the theme changes seasonally. The choices are Minnie’s Silver Screen Dine, Minnie’s Springtime Dine, Minnie’s Summertime Dine, Minnie’s Halloween Dine, and Minnie’s Holiday Dine. The menu is seasonal as well. It’s a meal that will make you want to return each season.
3. You Have to Check Out Disney Springs
Downtown Disney is now Disney Springs, and there is more to see and do than ever before. You need to head to Disney and enjoy the new dining and shopping opportunities. Grab a drink and enter Indiana Jones’ world at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, or enjoy some incredible Pan-Asian food at Morimoto Asia. You can purchase anything from shaving supplies to pearls at the new Disney Springs. If you haven’t been there lately, you can use Disney Springs as the perfect excuse for making a trip to Orlando.
2. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Is Changing
There are some major changes taking place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Rides and attractions are closing, former icons are being removed, construction walls are going up, and two new lands (based on Star Wars and Toy Story) are coming. That makes Disney’s Hollywood Studios the perfect reason to go to Disney. You don’t know what might open or close next, and you want to be able to experience everything. The changes are exciting, and the future of the park looks bright, but you still want to have one last look at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios that you’ve known and loved for years.
1. You Love All Things Disney
If you can’t help but smile when you think about Cinderella Castle and you proudly have a picture with Tigger as your profile picture, you don’t need an excuse to go to Walt Disney World soon. If you know the lyrics to Be Our Guest better than any song by Adele, you should be planning your next trip. If your wedding photos are displayed in Mickey and Minnie frames, you’ve lost track of the number of Disney T-shirts that you have, and you dine off of plates with Goofy on them, you need to return as soon as you can. If you’ve named your children Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, well, you should probably move to Florida.
