Walt Disney World is a beautiful place to visit.  Even though most of us focus on the rides, shows and food, there are some amazing spots to get pictures.  The next time you are in Walt Disney World, make sure to stop by these photo spots to capture a memory of your family.

1. Icons

The most well-known place for photos throughout Walt Disney World would be the icons at each of the four main parks.  When you are visiting, you will want to make sure to grab a picture in front of Cinderella’s Castle, Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth and the Chinese Theatre.  Each of these locations are special to their specific parks.

2. Haunted Mansion

When at the Magic Kingdom, make sure to stop for a photo after riding the Haunted Mansion.  This is a fun spot to grab a fun photo of your group pretending to be scared.  If you are able to catch a Disney Photo pass Photographer, you might even get some magical surprises to your photo.

3. Tower of Terror

When heading down Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios, make sure to stop for a photo with the iconic Tower of Terror in the background.  This is an excellent spot at night to capture a photo of the Tower of Terror all lit up in the background.  Have fun with it by making a scared face or pretend to be screaming as it adds some excitement to the photo.

Another great spot down Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios is outside of Rock n Roller Coaster.  There are two rocking photo spots outside this thrill ride.  One is the upside-down car before the ride and the other is the larger than life red guitar on the outside of the ride building.  Capture these photos before or after you experience the thrill of this ride.

5. Fountains at Epcot

A beautiful spot in Epcot to have pictures taken is in front of the fountains in Future World.  Try to time your photo when the fountains are going off.  These make excellent backgrounds to some beautiful photos.

6. Japan Pavilion

When you make your way around the World Showcase, there are numerous opportunities for photos. One of the best is in Japan.  The torii gate located in the water makes an outstanding backdrop for photos.  If your photographer is strategic, they can also get Spaceship Earth in the background as well.

7. Pandora

Pandora- the World of Avatar is filled will beautiful scenery to photograph.  From the floating mountains to the waterfalls and flowers, there is so much in Pandora that will make your photographs stand out.  Take time to get some photos at night as well to capture the bioluminescent lights.

8. Everest

Across the way in Animal Kingdom, you will want to get a photo of Everest in the background.  You can capture this mountain in multiple areas throughout the park giving you different views of the rollercoaster.  The bridge going from Asia back to Discovery Island is a fantastic spot but there is also a little alcove by Yak and Yeti that offers excellent views as well.

9. Unique Cinderella’s Castle Spots

In Magic Kingdom, make sure to take time to grab some photos around the castle.  Most guests stop for the iconic picture on Main Street which we mentioned earlier, but make sure to get some other photos of the castle.  A favorite is the view from Sleepy Hollow.  This gets the side view of the castle as well as some of the water.  The Rose Garden is another excellent spot to get some photos of the castle.

10. Train Station

Before entering or leaving Magic Kingdom, make sure you get a photo with the train station in the background.  You can do this from Main Street or right inside the gates of Magic Kingdom.  As trains were a huge part of Walt Disney’s life, you will want to capture this icon as well.

Bonus Ideas:  Another great idea for photo options are the rides signs or signs to the lands. Each land in Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom have signs announcing you are entering. These are fun places to stop and get a photo taken. Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios has a fantastic sign as you enter which you won’t want to miss. Rides also have signs outside the entrances which make great places for photo opportunities. From Peter Pan’s Flight to Slinky Dog Dash, these unique signs are fun photo options.

Walt Disney World is full of photo opportunities from the icons in each park to the rides and scenery, you will want to make sure you stop and capture those magical moments throughout your vacation.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
