9 Best Kept Secrets Of Walt Disney World

9. Spas

A trip to the spa is probably not the first thing you think of when you begin planning a trip to Walt Disney World, however with all of the running around the parks you’ll be doing, you’ll be happy to know that there are a couple of places you can go to unwind. If you’re looking for some extra relaxation during your next vacation head over to Senses, located at both Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa and the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Select other resorts are also home to spa services, including Coronado Springs, the Wilderness Lodge, the Boardwalk, and Animal Kingdom Lodge to name a few.

8. Victoria and Albert’s

Victoria and Albert’s is a AAA 5 Diamond dining experience located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. If you thought Walt Disney World was only the place to go for cheeseburgers and hot dogs, think again. In addition to the highest standards in food and service, Victoria and Albert’s features over 700 selections of wine, and the exclusive chef’s table dining experience, which is seated adjacent to the kitchen and available for a party of up to ten guests.

7. Golf courses

Did you know that the Walt Disney World resort is home to award winning golf courses? If you’re a golfer, you’ll definitely want to check out the Palm and Magnolia golf courses, which have been featured on the PGA world tour, and are located at the Shades of Green Resort (just across the street from the Polynesian Village Resort.)

6. Backstage tours

Have you been dying to get a glimpse of Walt Disney World behind the scenes? Super curious about those tunnels underneath the Magic Kingdom? Wondering what goes on backstage at Kilimanjaro Safari? Disney offers a number of backstage experiences in all four theme parks, that will give you an inside look into what goes into the efficient and creative running of each area. 5. Dine with an Imagineer

Craving some more insider knowledge? You’re actually able to book a dining reservation at Walt Disney World to have lunch with an Imagineer. 4. Jellyrolls

One of my favorite places to go at Walt Disney World after leaving one of the theme parks at night is Jellyrolls. Jellyrolls is the dueling piano bar located at the Boardwalk Inn. The cover might seem a little pricey however the entertainment value is totally worth it, as the piano players put on an excellent show, and they generally have nightly drink specials as well.

3. Fishing

There are a couple of different places to go fishing at the Walt Disney World resort. Many of the resorts located on waterfronts offer fishing excursions, which come complete with a guide and equipment. For a more laid back (and inexpensive) fishing trip, check out the traditional cane pole fishing, located at the Port Orleans Resorts.

2. Recreation

For a vacation destination that is so well known for its theme parks, there is actually a lot to do at Walt Disney World outside of the theme parks. Whether you want to go parasailing, horseback riding, bike riding, or maybe even rent a small speed boat, there are a number of recreational offerings available at the Disney resorts. In addition, consider attending a campfire or movie night, which are hosted almost every day by your resort, just check with the front desk for a complete schedule.

1. Discounts

The best kept Disney secret is that you can actually get some discounts for a Walt Disney World vacation. For starters, check the special offers portion of the Walt Disney World website. If any of these offers jump out at you, you can book your next vacation with a slight discount. If you are a Florida resident, annual/seasonal passholder, or a Disney Vacation Club member, you can purchase a Tables in Wonderland card, which entitles you to 20% off a number of Disney restaurants. In addition, passholders and DVC members get 10% off merchandise, as well as Disney Visa cardmembers when they spend over $50.
