World of Pandora Hit With Closure in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

If you’ve been to Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you know how stunning those glowing walkways are at night. Well, Disney decided it’s time to give them a little facelift! Out of nowhere, sections of the bioluminescent paths are getting repainted. It’s a bit of a surprise, but honestly, perfect timing—with Animal Kingdom’s hours extending in February, we’ll finally get to soak in those nighttime vibes more often. It’s about time, right? Those glowing pathways are one of the coolest parts of the park after dark, and it’s great to see Disney giving them some extra love. There’s nothing quite like strolling through Pandora under the stars, and this update is going to make that experience even more magical.

Sure, the blocked-off areas make it a bit crowded, but the good news is everything else in Pandora is still open. You can still ride Avatar Flight of Passage, float down the Na’vi River Journey, or grab a bite at Satu’li Canteen. And once those paths are glowing brighter than ever, it’ll be worth the slight detour. Plus, it’s kind of exciting to see Disney making improvements—it shows they’re always looking to make the guest experience even better. And who doesn’t love seeing their favorite places get a little refresh? It’s like visiting an old friend who just got a fabulous makeover!

But wait, there’s more! Disney World has big changes on the horizon for 2025, and they’re going to shake things up in the best way possible. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is getting an update—I can’t wait to see what new surprises they add to that wild ride.

Test Track’s getting a facelift, which could mean faster speeds or cooler car designs. Imagine zipping through those sharp turns in a brand-new ride vehicle—sounds awesome, right? And Dinoland USA is closed to make room for something new—a Tropical Americas land sounds like it’ll be amazing, with all-new attractions and maybe even some new food spots to check out. I’m picturing vibrant colors, lush landscapes, and maybe even some thrilling rides that take you on an adventure through the rainforest.

Monsters, Inc. land might be taking over where Muppet*Vision 3D is in Hollywood Studios. Can you imagine meeting Mike and Sulley in their own themed area? It’s like stepping right into Monstropolis! Looks like next year is going to be wild, and I can’t wait to see it all unfold. With all these updates, 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years at Disney World yet!

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
