Disneyland is NOW OPENED and we have why you need to plan a trip RIGHT NOW!

1. Because You Can

The very first reason you should plan a trip to Disneyland is because you CAN!  Disneyland has been closed since March of 2020, but finally it is welcoming guests near and far back into the magic.  This alone is an excellent reason to plan a trip to where it all started!  If you have been waiting to visit Disneyland, don’t wait any longer.

2. Beautiful Weather

We all love Walt Disney World, but it isn’t a secret that the weather there in central Florida can be tough.  From extreme heat and humidity to down pours and hurricanes, a trip to Walt Disney World can be drastically impacted by the weather.  Disneyland on the other hand, located in beautiful California, offers glorious weather.  Limited humidity along with sunshine and less storms make Disneyland a great location for a vacation anytime of the year.  Temperatures range into the mid 80s during the summer months and typically don’t drop below the mid 40s in the winter.  If you are looking for more consistency when it comes to weather during your vacation Disneyland is a great option.

3. Avengers Campus

Another top reason why you need to head to Disneyland now is to see the newest land- Avengers Campus.  Located in Disney’s California Adventure, this new land brings the Marvel Cinematic Universe to life like never before. The campus offers so much with a new ride, outstanding food and so many amazing characters throughout the land.  You truly need to see it to believe it!

4. New Ride: Web-Slingers

Part of Avengers Campus is the brand-new ride WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.  On this ride guests can help Spiderman gather up his Spider-Bots that have got stuck in replication mode and are now causing problems.  This ride is fun for the whole family. Right now, it is using a virtual queue to make sure to download the app so you can join at either 7 am or 12pm.

5. Downtown Disney District Offering More

The Downtown Disney District is offering more than ever before with options for eating, shopping and exploring around every corner.  The latest summer styles are easy to find at stores such as Pandora Jewelry, California Sole, Curl Serf and The Disney Dress Shop.  Delicious eats are available as well at the reopened Splitsville Lanes, La Brea Bakery Cafe and quick snacks at Salt and Straw, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express and so much more.  Also new to Downtown Disney is an outdoor family-friendly photographic scavenger hunt.  New anamorphic art installations where you can check out the pieces from different vantage points to see them in unique ways.

6. More Dining Options Opening

New dining options are being offered throughout the Disneyland Resort.  In the Disneyland Park, dining locations such as Docking Bay 7, Maurice’s Treats and the Tiki Juice Bar will be welcoming guests.  Disney California Adventure Park will have Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nuns, Cozy Cone Motel, Lamplight Lounge Brunch, Lamplight Lounge-Boardwalk Dining and more are opened to guests.  At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa guests can enjoy food once again at Napa Rose, Storytellers Cafe as well as Hearthstone Lounge and GCH Craftsman Bar and Grill.  We are excited that there are so many dining options opening back up making it a great time to head to Disneyland.

7. Fireworks Are Back

We have all been waiting for the day that fireworks would be returning to the Disney Parks and that day has come.  Starting on July 4th, Mickey’s Mix Magic will be presented throughout the summer.  This “state-of-the-art projections, show lighting and lasers will transform Main Street, U.S.A, Sleeping Beauty Castle and the façade of “it’s a small world” into a dazzling, family fun dance party that goes sky high with fireworks to celebrate the leader of the club, Mickey Mouse.” and we are thrilled to have fireworks back!

From amazing food to nighttime fireworks and a whole new land to explore, now is an excellent time to head to Disneyland!  There is so much magic to experience that you won’t want to wait to visit the original Disney park!

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
