Walt Disney World is a treasure trove of magical experiences, but with so many attractions to explore, it’s easy to find yourself overwhelmed. While most Disney rides are absolutely worth your time, there are a few that might not be as enchanting as they seem.

Whether it’s the lengthy wait times, excessive screen usage, or rough ride experiences, some attractions might be better off your must-do list. Here’s a guide to a few Disney rides you might want to consider skipping during your next visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Disney Rides That Aren’t Worth the Wait

Some rides at Disney World are iconic, but their wait times often overshadow the actual experience. One prime example is Peter Pan’s Flight in Magic Kingdom. This whimsical journey through Neverland is beloved, but with wait times frequently exceeding an hour and a ride duration of just over two minutes, many guests feel it’s not worth the extended wait.

Similarly, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train often sees lengthy lines. Although this family-friendly coaster offers a charming story and some fun drops, the brief ride experience may not justify the often hour-plus wait time.

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Na’vi River Journey is another ride that frequently has long waits. While the visuals are indeed stunning and immersive, some guests feel that the scenic boat ride isn’t worth the sometimes over-hour wait.

If you’re set on experiencing these rides, consider using Disney’s Lightning Lanes to skip the long standby lines and save yourself some time.

Too Much Screen Time

Disney’s innovative use of screens can enhance attractions, but for some guests, it can be a bit overwhelming. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT is a fun ride that combines screens and physical sets to bring the world of Remy to life. However, for those sensitive to screen-based attractions, this 3D experience might be a bit too much, especially with its motion effects.

Another screen-heavy ride is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. This thrilling new ride features a lot of screens, a reverse launch, and a spinning ride vehicle. While it’s smooth and exciting, the combination of screens and rapid movements can cause discomfort for some guests.

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Tours is a classic screen-based attraction that simulates a space flight with C-3PO. Though the special effects are impressive, the constant movement and screen visuals might not be ideal for those who are prone to motion sickness.

Disney Rides That May Be a Bumpy Ride

As we get older, our tolerance for rough rides can change. Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom is a thrilling indoor coaster with sharp turns and sudden drops, but its darkness and rapid movements can be jarring. For guests who prefer smoother rides, this one might not be the best choice.

Dinosaur at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is another ride that can be quite rough. This adventure takes guests on a wild journey to the prehistoric past, but the jerky movements and sudden actions of the ride vehicle can be uncomfortable for some.

These rides offer excitement and thrills, but if you prefer to avoid the physical jostling, you might want to give them a miss.

Walt Disney World Resort has something for everyone, from thrilling rides to relaxing attractions. While we love many of the experiences offered, it’s important to prioritize what works best for you and your family.

Whether it’s managing wait times, handling screen intensity, or avoiding rough rides, knowing which attractions might not align with your preferences can help you make the most of your magical vacation.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that β€œIf You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
