If you’re planning a stay at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort later this year, here’s something to note before you pack those Mickey ears. Starting August 4, 2025, a phased refurbishment will begin at Maestro Mickey’s gift shop.
According to the Walt Disney World Resort website, “During this time, the store will remain open. However, Guests may see and hear construction in the area until the work is complete,” which is currently scheduled to wrap up by mid-October 2025.
Located in the Animal Kingdom Resort Area, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort strikes a chord with guests looking for an affordable way to stay immersed in the magic. Designed with a high-energy music theme, the resort pays tribute to jazz, rock, Broadway, and more through playful, oversized décor and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
While Maestro Mickey’s undergoes its refresh, guests can still explore all the amenities that make this resort a fan favorite. With standard rooms and spacious family suites—featuring two bathrooms and kitchenettes—there’s space for everyone to stretch out and relax. Dining options include the Intermission Food Court for quick meals and snacks, plus the Singing Spirits Pool Bar for a refreshing beverage by the pool.
For recreation, the resort offers two themed pools, nightly Movies Under the Stars, and a playground for the little ones. While the resort relies solely on Disney’s bus system for transportation and may feel busy during peak seasons, its pricing and vibrant atmosphere continue to make it a go-to destination for families.
Disney often informs guests of construction projects in advance, especially when work may impact the guest experience. In this case, the update to Maestro Mickey’s is modest compared to some of the larger refurbishments happening throughout Walt Disney World Resort, but it is still important for those who plan to shop onsite.
Whether you’re returning to All-Star Music or staying for the first time, the resort’s charm and musical flair remain firmly center stage—even as the magic gets a little tune-up behind the scenes.
Can construction ever stop at Disney? I mean, seriously. Just stop building/refurbishing and enjoy it.
