Walt Disney World Opens New Exhibit Within Morocco Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase

We are so excited to learn about a new exhibit that is now open within the Morocco pavilion, located within Epcot’s World Showcase. It is located within the Gallery of Arts and History at the pavilion and is called, Race Against the Sun: Ancient Technique to Modern Competition. According to Disney Parks Blog, “Race Against the Sun showcases two incredible modern-day competitions – Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) and Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc (Rally of the Gazelles) – as well as the rich history of the ancient inhabitants of the Sahara, the Berbers.”

Experience the thrill of a rally driving simulator set against a sweeping desert backdrop, surrounded by vibrant Moroccan-inspired decor and intricate tiled walls straight from Epcot’s Morocco Pavilion, complete with authentic racing gear—all brought together in an immersive museum exhibit that captures the magic of theme park adventures.

The exhibit features immersive components for guests to experience like a diorama of the Marathon of the Sands, complete with race gear and trophies. There is also an interactive photo opportunity, too!

Three sesame-covered dessert balls sit on a sleek black slate, set against a blue and white patterned backdrop that captures the lively spirit of Epcot’s Morocco Pavilion at Walt Disney World.

To celebrate this new exhibit, guests can get a taste of participating in an intense desert competition. At Tangierine Café guests will discover “sellou,” a food highlighted in Race Against the Sun. Participants commonly eat this during their race. It is made with foods like almonds and sesame seeds to give runners the energy that they need.

Who else can’t wait to check out this new exhibit?

Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips… More »
