Universal Studios Orlando has announced a theme park closure for the next four days, beginning on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Something strange is happening in Central Florida this week, and it doesn’t look like the “strangeness” will end in the next few days.
As such, Universal Studios Orlando Resort has announced the closure of one of its three theme parks beginning Saturday, December 16. The closure will last at least through Tuesday, December 19, 2023, as inclement weather is being forecast for the Central Florida region.
On Universal’s calendar of park hours, there are no times available for Volcano Bay, Universal Orlando Resort’s water park, from December 16 to December 19, representing a four-day closure of the theme park.
Central Florida Weather Over the Next Few Days
On Saturday, a high of only 70 degrees is expected in the region, with a 100% chance of rain. Lows will be in the mid-60s. On Sunday, there’s a 33% chance of rain early in the day, with high temperatures near 70 degrees and lows in the lower 50s.
Then, on Monday, the high will only be in the mid-60s, with lows in the mid-40s under partly cloudy skies. Tuesday looks to be the coolest day of the week, with high temperatures of only 59 degrees and north winds at 12 miles per hour. Lows on Tuesday will be in the mid- to upper-40s.
Universal Orlando Resort is home to three unique theme parks–Universal Studios, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal’s Volcano Bay water park. A brand-new theme park, Epic Universe, is currently under construction with plans to open to guests in the summer of 2025.
