Some might say it’s impossible not to have a good day at Magic Kingdom, it’s the most magical place on earth after all. And that may be true, but there are few things you can do to make sure it really is the best day possible. Here are our top 10 suggestions for having a great day at Magic Kingdom.

10. Be Prepared

The first few steps to having a great day at Magic Kingdom is to be prepared for the day ahead. That could mean having a poncho or umbrella on hand, sunscreen, and staying hydrated. It also means making a good decision regarding what you wear, make it something comfortable and wear shoes that will allow you to walk around the park all day. Avoid possible annoyances by being prepared and thinking ahead.

9. Have a Sit Down Meal

Magic Kingdom has some really wonderful table service restaurants. Guests can meet characters like Winnie the Pooh and Disney princesses, all while creating memories as you have a delicious meal in a themed restaurant. Taking the time to sit down to eat is also a good way for everyone to take a break and recharge.

8. See Fireworks

Magic Kingdom has always had incredible fireworks, and the new show Happily Ever After delivers in every way, from fireworks, beautiful projections on the castle and amazing music. There’s nothing quite like standing on Main Street or at the castle and seeing fireworks explode in the night sky over the most magical place on earth. Fireworks are key to having a great day at Magic Kingdom, and it’s one of the best ways to end the day.

7. Watch Festival of Fantasy

The Festival of Fantasy is a wonderful parade at Magic Kingdom full of color, music, whimsy, and a ton of Disney characters on magnificent floats. The parade only runs once a day at 3pm, so find a good viewing spot and take in the parade. It’s a celebration of the spirit of Disney, and it is not to be missed.

6. Wait in Line

Magic Kingdom has so many rides and attractions to experience, but that can also mean long waits for guests. But don’t let the prospect of spending some time in line make you miss out on attractions all together. Decide how long you’re willing to wait in line, be it 20 or 30 minutes, and then wait in line for the attractions you really want to do. Many Disney rides have queue lines that are interactive, provide entertainment for little ones and adults alike, to help the time in line go by quicker. It would be a shame to miss out on many attractions because of some wait times.

5. Use FastPass+

Making FastPass+ reservations is so important when visiting Magic Kingdom and will allow you to enjoy more of what the park has to offer. Fastpasses save you time, and ensure that you get to do some of those things on your must-do list. Do yourself a favor and make your FastPass+ reservations in advance.

4. Slow Down

Disney is known for the details, and creating fully immersive experiences, so slow down a little during your visit. Read some of the windows along Main Street, and notice how the pathways and pavement change between lands. Slowing down is also important to lasting a whole day at Magic Kingdom. It’s a big park to take on, especially in hot and humid weather, so take a break here or there. Slowing down will also help you appreciate the wonderful day you’re having at Magic Kingdom.

There are so many classic and fun characters to meet like Gaston, Buzz, Disney princesses, and of course Mickey. Pick your favorite character, or a few, and find out when and where to meet them.

2. Have a Dole Whip

Aloha Isle is located in Adventureland, and they serve up the infamous Dole Whip. The Dole Whip is pineapple flavored soft serve and is very refreshing. The Dole Whip is the perfect Disney treat when at Magic Kingdom. If you haven’t had one, it should be on your must-do list. If you have had one, and it’s just not your thing, I would replace ‘Have A Dole Whip’, with have a Disney snack of your choice. There are so many Disney treats that just make your day at Magic Kingdom that much better. So whatever that treat is for you, make sure you have it. But my pick is definitely the Dole Whip!

1. Arrive Early

Arriving early is crucial to having a great day at Magic Kingdom. Getting there before the park officially opens will allow you to explore Main Street and the hub without fighting crowds of people. You’ll enjoy a less stressful start to your day, you can watch the welcome show in front of the castle and get in line for your favorite attractions before the late comers, and get a head start on your fantastic day at Magic Kingdom.
