Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Log Sinks, Family Plunged Into Deep Ride Water

A log ride vehicle that began taking on water forced an evacuation at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park on Wednesday. The guest who filmed it has added her footage to a growing body of evidence that something is seriously wrong with the rethemed Splash Mountain attraction.

On July 29, Instagram user @mamamouseclubhouse captured the moment when her family’s ride vehicle began sinking during their Tiana’s Bayou Adventure experience. Disney cast members shut the attraction down and guided her group through a backstage evacuation route.

The My Disney Experience app showed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure listed as “temporarily closed” for several hours around the time of this report, though the exact connection between that specific closure and the sinking log incident — which occurred at least a day earlier — hasn’t been confirmed by Walt Disney World Resort.

The comments beneath @mamamouseclubhouse’s Instagram post filled quickly with other guests sharing their own frustrating experiences on the ride. @kelsooooo30 described an abrupt stop that left her daughter hurt:

“When we went it stopped, and my daughter hit her head on the bar really hard. I was really worried, but she’s fine thankfully…@waltdisneyworld please don’t open it and let people get lightning lanes. It’s been doing this all summer. It needs to be properly fixed. We don’t care if you need a month.”

“I thought they would of fixed the sinking problem after the retheme,” @morganacrews replied.

An Attraction That Has Struggled All Summer

Reports of breakdowns, audio-animatronic malfunctions, and components allegedly held together with duct tape have followed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure throughout the 2026 season. The pattern has been building for months, yet no refurbishment closure has been announced or scheduled for the Magic Kingdom Park ride.

The Disneyland Park version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has had its own turbulent stretch, with two separate children exiting the ride vehicle near the top of the over-50-foot drop in recent weeks. Both incidents drew widespread media attention. The Disneyland Park attraction is currently operating normally.

Walt Disney World Resort has not commented on the sinking log incident, the ongoing technical issues, or the growing calls from guests for a temporary closure and repair.
