Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Evacuated After Multi-Boat Pile Up
Dozens of Walt Disney World Resort guests recently evacuated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure after a malfunction that left several boats piled up in an indoor portion of the log flume ride. One of the Disney Park guests shared a video of the evacuation online and even captured footage of some secret backstage areas of the rethemed Splash Mountain attraction.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park in June 2024, and Disneyland Park’s version followed in December. The attraction experienced several serious malfunctions in its early days, forcing multiple Disney cast member and Annual Passholder previews to end early. Though the Princess and the Frog (2009) ride is more reliable these days, it still experiences frequent issues with its advanced audio-animatronics.
But while rare, evacuations from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure are sometimes necessary. On Friday, TikTok user @chasingpixiedust_ shared this video after Disney cast members rescued dozens of riders from the broken log flume ride:
@chasingpixiedust_ Tiana Bayou got stuck and we had to get escorted off the ride 😳 But the backstage tour? Totally worth it 😂💚🎢✨ #disneyworld #disneyparks #tianasbayouadventure #tiana #disneyrides #disneybehindthescene #pov #viral #fyp #disneytok #disneyadult #disneypassholder #disneymagic #magickingdompark
In the video, several logs appear to have stopped on top of one another, slamming into the boat ahead as the ride came to a sudden halt. Disney cast members use grabber tools to pull some of the logs closer to the emergency evacuation platform and help guests out.
Once all the Magic Kingdom Park guests had emerged from their logs, Disney cast members escorted them through a backstage area, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at some motionless audio-animatronics, a water reservoir, several maintenance areas, and the rear, unthemed part of the attraction.
Although any interruption to a Disney Parks vacation is disappointing, the TikToker took it in stride.
“Tiana Bayou got stuck and we had to get escorted off the ride,” they wrote. “But the backstage tour? Totally worth it.”
Walt Disney World Resort didn’t publicly acknowledge this ride evacuation, which isn’t uncommon. However, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure eventually reopened and was operating normally at the time of this article’s publication.
