Disney Takes Another Big Step in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!
It has been nearly four years since Disney shocked fans and announced that its iconic Splash Mountain was closing at both Disneyland Park and the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort. Splash Mountain had been the center of some controversy, since it was based on the 1946 film Song of the South. The film has been removed from many platforms due to its outright racial stereotypes that have since been deemed insensitive and inappropriate.

When announcing Splash Mountain’s closure, Disney also shared that the attraction would be getting a Princess and the Frog (2009) retheme. Two years later, at ESSENCE Fest in New Orleans, Disney announced that the new ride would be called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. They also announced that the attraction would open in late 2024 at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
We are just months away from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening at Disney World, and Disney has slowly been releasing new details about the highly-anticipated attraction. We have been given a storyline, a sneak peek at the incredible Tiana animatronic, and even a look at what the cute critters who live on the bayou will look like!

On April 2, Disney shared what the attraction poster that will hang in the Magic Kingdom will look like. The poster will most likely hang in the tunnel that guests walk through as they enter the Magic Kingdom. Of course, Tiana is front and center, but other beloved characters like Louis and Mama Odie grace the background.

At this time, we do not know the exact date Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. However, Disney has done several things to make fans believe that it will open around June 10 at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
On June 10, Disney shared that a bunch of amazing things will happen at Disney World.
Communicore Hall will open at EPCOT, along with an Encanto (2021) stage show. That same day, a new nighttime show will premiere at Disney Springs and a rare character meet and greet will come back to Animal Kingdom. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a new Inside Out (2015) attraction will open that same day. The only park left out of the news was the Magic Kingdom.
