For many runners, registration day is one of the most stressful parts of any runDisney event. Spots can disappear quickly, and some participants spend weeks preparing for the moment sign-ups go live.
That is why this week’s registration issues for the 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend created so much frustration.

Runners expected to register earlier this week, but the process never officially opened. Instead, thousands of Disney fans found themselves waiting for updates as runDisney worked through technical issues behind the scenes.
After several rounds of communication, runDisney has now announced a new registration date and time, giving participants another opportunity to secure their place in one of Walt Disney World’s most popular race weekends.
The new registration date is Monday, June 8, at 10 a.m. Eastern.
The delay immediately sparked conversations across social media. Many longtime participants remembered previous registration headaches and wondered if another major sellout situation could be developing.
While the unexpected postponement disappointed many runners, the extra notice may actually help participants better prepare for registration day. Instead of scrambling for information, everyone now has a clear date and time to plan around.

The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend remains one of the crown jewels of the runDisney calendar. Scheduled for February 25 through March 1, 2027, the event attracts runners from across the country who want to combine a Disney vacation with a race experience unlike any other.
The weekend begins with the Disney Princess 5K, themed around Tiana. The following day brings the Snow White-themed 10K. The Jasmine-themed Half Marathon serves as the weekend’s signature event, while the Ariel-inspired Fairy Tale Challenge gives runners the chance to complete both the 10K and Half Marathon over two days.
Disney Princess Yoga at Disney’s Hollywood Studios rounds out the event.
Part of what makes Princess Weekend so popular is its atmosphere. Participants often dress as their favorite Disney characters, collect unique medals, and enjoy entertainment throughout the courses. Many runners return year after year because the event feels more like a celebration than a traditional race.

That popularity is also why registration day can be so intense.
Anyone planning to register on June 8 should expect significant online traffic. Popular race categories have a history of selling quickly, and this week’s delay has only increased attention on the event.
The good news is that runners now know exactly when registration will open. After an unexpected week of waiting, Princess Weekend registration is finally back on the schedule, and Disney fans can once again focus on preparing for race weekend rather than worrying about registration updates.
